Tlaloc is a Warlock-exclusive exotic Scout rifle introduced in The Taken King.[1] It is obtained by reaching Rank 3 Gunsmith reputation with a Warlock and completing the Back in the Saddle quest.

Gameplay

Tlaloc starts out as an average Scout Rifle with no unique properties. It is perfectly serviceable, but doesn't have much utility otherwise. However, given enough time, for the moment the player's Super is fully charged, Tlaloc's exotic perk, Overflow, starts to kick in. It gives considerable bonuses to stability, handling, and rate of fire all at once without any reduction in damage. The most common tactic was for the player to use the super, Radiance, and hold onto self revive until needed. Thus, allowing for the perk to always be active. Using this strategy, the weapon becomes a formidable killer of both minions of the Darkness and other Guardians in the Crucible.

Overview

Intrinsic Perk

  • Grenadier: Kills with this weapon reduce the cooldown of your grenade.

Barrels

  • Smooth Ballistics: Increased recoil. Boost to range.
  • Accurized Ballistics: More range and impact. Increased recoil.
  • Soft Ballistics: Less recoil. Penalty to Impact.

Special Perk

  • Eye of the Storm: This weapon gets more accurate when the user is critically wounded.

Stat Modifiers

  • Hand Loaded: This weapon is effective at an extended range.
  • Armor Piercing Rounds: These iridium-core rounds overpenetrate targets. Their mass slows down weapon handling.
  • Injection Mold: Increased Stability, Faster Handling Reduced Range

Exotic Perk

  • Overflow: This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and rate of fire when the wielder's Super is fully charged. [2]

Trivia

  • Tlaloc is the name of the Aztec god of rain, thunder and fertility.
