"Vestiges of the Queen's Harbingers yet linger among Saturn's moons."
— Weapon Description

Telesto is an exotic Fusion Rifle available in The Taken King.[1] Since the release of Rise of Iron. Telesto has been given two exotic Ornaments (Lingering Vestige and Queen's Command) that have a chance of dropping from Radiant Treasures and Treasures of The Dawning. It reappeared in Curse of Osiris as a Heavy weapon, but was moved to the Energy slot with the introduction of Forsaken.

TO: ACT RGNT PETRA VENJ
SUBJECT: PRISON OF ELDERS - CONTAINMENT RISK

MESSAGE IS:

1. Contingency reserves overdrawn. We underestimated nobility troth reparations. Uldren suggests that we open reintegration talks. Have you discussed endowment support?

2. If Reef endorses support, Paladin Oran will engineer reinforcement.

MESSAGE ENDS

Gameplay[edit]

Unlike other Fusion Rifles, Telesto fires projectiles that adhere to foes and other surfaces and detonate with a slightly delayed Void blast. Multikills with this weapon will also drop Orbs for allies. Players can sometimes bait enemies into the projectiles prior to detonation if the enemy is not aware.

Trivia[edit]

The Telesto themed Schrödinger's Gun emblem, redeemable with the code 9LX-7YC-6TX on Bungie.net.
  • Telesto is a moon of Saturn.
  • The weapon's perk, Harbinger's Spark, bears the Cassoid insignia, possibly meaning that the weapon was manufactured by the foundry. The foundry currently does not make any more legendary or exotic weapons other than Telesto, Dead Messenger, and Eriana's Vow in Destiny 2.
  • A secret message was discovered in Telesto's lore tab by associates of Reddit user u/dropslash. Found using a shorthand decoding technique, if one takes the first letter of every word in Paladin Rior's message, a secret message reads: "CROW UNTRUSTWORTHY DESIRES POWER"[2]. Furthermore, at the time of Telesto's release into Destiny 2, it alluded to Uldren's affairs in the Forsaken add-on.
  • Telesto is infamous in the community for often having some bug or glitch that causes it to either be overpowered, become unusable, or simply be removed from the game temporarily.
    • This resulted in Bungie fooling around in Hotfix 6.2.5.3 of Season of Plunder when Telesto was secretly changed to fire excessively slow projectiles that tended to float, fixed by literally slapping the weapon by holding the reload button.[3] Later, the projectiles gained the ability to explode into smaller projectiles. The following day, Telesto "took over" the official Destiny 2 Twitter account,[4] declaring itself mightier than the Vanguard, Savathûn, the Witness, the Nine, and Bungie CEO Pete Parsons.
    • The special Schrödinger's Gun emblem commemorates this event and Telesto's legacy.
