Failsafe Introduction[edit]

Or

  • Failsafe: Welcome to a small, dislocated chunk of MY body, the Exodus Black. Outside these doors, Vex horrors await your analysis!

Or

  • Failsafe: Welcome, Fireteam! Your mission is to collect data, disrupt the Vex — and do not forget to have fun!

Or

  • Failsafe: I'm clearing space for more data. It's a real trip down memory lane. And… deleted! Have fun, fireteam!

Or

  • Failsafe: Hey, Captain. Things seem pretty nuts out there in the solar system right now, but don't worry. I've got your back.

Or

  • Failsafe: Greetings, Guardians! You are all Captains to me. Please do not compete with each other to establish dominance.

Or

  • Failsafe: Guardians! Is this a surprise visit!? Oh, you're here to extract Vex data.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain! Ready for another exciting day of provoking the Vex?

Or

  • Failsafe: Are your weapons loaded? Shoelaces tied? Have a good day out there! Remember to not drink the milk.

Before 1st encounter[edit]

  • Saint-14: Hello, Failsafe. I am glad to finally be working with you.
  • Saint-14: Ha! Very good. Well then, if we put our heads and your scans together, we will decipher the Vex's plans in no time.

Or

  • Ikora Rey: I'll be guiding you through this venture as you collect data, Guardian. The Vanguard have every faith in you.
  • Failsafe: I'm also here. I'm always here.
  • Ikora Rey: And we always appreciate you, Failsafe.

Or

  • Failsafe: Initiating scanning sweep. Please standby for target acquisition.
  • Osiris: Studying each change the Vex force upon Nessus, upon themselves, reveals facets of their schemes. Disrupt them, and retrieve their data for analysis.

Post-Mesmerize

  • Ikora Rey: The key to the Conductor's hold over Saint must be somewhere on Nessus. The Vanguard cannot allow our fighters to be compromised. And… I can't let Saint go through this without help.
  • Failsafe: Captain, I won't scold you for any increased violence today. I think we could all use the stress relief.

Or

  • Osiris: Failsafe, have you pinpointed our first target?
  • Failsafe: Working on it…
  • Osiris: Perhaps we can find a countermeasure to the Conductor's ability to command, or something to break her hold on Saint.
  • Failsafe: I'll see what I can turn up, buuut it might be best if you just talk to him?
  • Osiris: He hears my words but his heart doesn't keep them… Though we don't give up on each other. I'll keep trying until he does.

Or

  • Saint-14: Failsafe… please, lead the mission. You are Captain now.
  • Failsafe: I am honored, but am technically unable to accept a permanent promotion to a position of authority. It's okay, buddy. How about we let the Captain take the lead?
  • Saint-14: Yes. I will… watch the data.

Post-Shell

  • Ikora Rey: The Conductor believes she is working toward a common good: a new Golden Age — she's fooling herself. She wants nothing other than control, and we will not give it to her.
  • Failsafe: Ideally before she takes over all of our brains too.

Or

  • Osiris: She's more Vex than Human now, and most of Nessus has fallen to her assimilation. A civil war at the microbial level... They believe they can mold reality as they wish, no matter to cost. That plan starts and ends here. With you. See that she fails.

Or

  • Failsafe: Saint-unit. I am detecting heightened Vex processing activity. Forwarding coordinates to Vanguard tactical.
  • Saint-14: Guardians, the data here carries the Conductor's plans, yes, but also her lies meant to convert all Vex, all life, to her cause. Learn what we can, and break the rest!

Or

  • Maya Sundaresh: Why do you continue to fight against what would benefit you?
  • Failsafe: It is the Conductor! Did you know your method of accessing my comms is very unpleasant, the Conductor? Please go away!
  • Maya Sundaresh: You're very brave for a ship with no flight capacity.

Post-Encore: Coda

  • Failsafe: Osiris, why would the Conductor continue this work if she's not on Nessus?
  • Osiris: She has gained access to the greater Vex network, but that doesn't mean she controls it. Well, yet. Maya must still require Nessus as a testing ground before foisting her experiments upon the rest of the collective.

Or

  • Ikora: The Conductor may be physically absent, but she retains a connection to the Vex through their Network. She is not the type of person to be dissuaded from her work. Or her revenge.
  • Failsafe: At least we still get to hang out! While the Captain gets shot at.

Or

  • Saint-14: Vex hostility is increasing in Maya's absence. We cannot leave Nessus to become her stronghold. Be careful, fireteam. Whatever data remains is closely guarded, and Maya could return at any time.
  • Failsafe: That would suggest that it is also important. Good. Let's hit them where it hurts.

Before 2nd encounter[edit]

  • Saint-14: Well done, fireteam. The more we learn of Nessus' changes, the better prepared we will be to face its dangers.
  • Failsafe: Speaking of danger: tracking incoming hostiles. Sending you the details, Captain.

Or

  • Osiris: We've pulled everything we can from this site. Failsafe, sweep the area and find our next target.
  • Failsafe: Data-streams are consolidated at a new location. Standby.

Or

  • Failsafe: You have done well, Captain! Good job. I am proud of you! That is not sarcasm!
  • Ikora Rey: Uh, sending new coordinates… I agree with Failsafe's assessment, but the Vex will not.

Post-Shell

  • Maya Sundaresh: Are you so attached to your scraps of power in a broken world? A second Golden Age would benefit us all. And yet you resist beyond all sense.
  • Failsafe: That is one of my favorite things about the Captain! Sending new coordinates.

Before 3rd encounter[edit]

  • Ikora Rey: That's as much data as we have capacity for. Time to leave, Guardian.
  • Failsafe: I hate to see you go, but I'd also hate to watch the Vex trap you in a time-box forever.

Or

  • Failsafe: Temporal disturbance detected. And the Vex are jamming my transmat lock. Rude…
  • Osiris: It appears there's a limit on how much data we can extract before a heightened security force takes notice. Break their hold.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, your team's data-stores are full and ready for extraction.
  • Saint-14: We are ready to receive you. Make your way home.

Or

  • Failsafe: Whoa. I'm detecting a reversal in the Vex's signal polarities. Any idea what that's about?
  • Osiris: They're retracting their access points and flooding the field with reinforcements. We are done here.
  • Failsafe: Prepping for extraction run!

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, subterranean radiolaria flows are converging on this position and disrupting extraction procedures.
  • Saint-14: Nessus itself brings the Vex to us. Secure their command plates and Failsafe will extract your fireteam.

Or

  • Ikora Rey: You've awakened Nessus' last defenses. The Vex will do anything to neutralize the threat.
  • Failsafe: Like jamming my extraction link. Neutralize them, Captain! We'll get you out of there as soon as we can.

Post-Shell

  • Failsafe: Looks like the Conductor doesn't want you getting out with a full load of data. Hang tight, Captain.
  • Maya Sundaresh: You were a fool if you thought otherwise.

Gestating Pods objective[edit]

  • Ikora Rey: Each of these growths is a petri dish of mutating radiolaria. There is no timeline in which the Vex experimenting on themselves ends well for us.
  • Failsafe: And that means it is apple picking time, Captain!

Or

  • Failsafe: New target for data collection found. Osiris, tell the Captain what we found!
  • Osiris: Yes, the Vex have erected an algorithmic acceleration farm. It must be dismantled. It's self-replicating. You'll need to interrupt its connections in specific sequence.

Or

  • Failsafe: The next data-site has been located.
  • Osiris: And the Vex appear to have enhanced their defenses. This data is shielded.

Or

  • Failsafe: Uploading coordinates to the next site... and it's a doozy. Heavy encryption on the data.
  • Ikora Rey: Careful analysis should bring you through. Never forget, Guardian, that every lock has a key.

Or

  • Saint-14: Another tree. Failsafe, are there… simulations running in those data-pods?
  • Failsafe: None at all, Saint-unit. Only rabid, mutated radiolaria specimens that provide data!

Post-Shell

  • Failsafe: The Conductor is brewing up some new kinds of radiolaria in those structures. Collect as much as you can.
  • Maya Sundaresh: I work to proliferate life for the sake of humanity. Are Humans happy now? Are they secure and thriving, huddled behind their walls?
  • Failsafe: Have I mentioned that whatever you're doing to access this channel kinda hurts?

Flow Directors objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: Captain, supercharged radiolaria from deep within Nessus is about to breach the crust.
  • Osiris: Find it and siphon what we can, but carefully. There's a battle of assimilation raging beneath us. The data here can tell us where and how it is being fought.

Or

  • Failsafe: Supercharged radiolaria detected. But the Vex are making it sorta hard to pin down where.
  • Osiris: Move in, fireteam. Look for temporal distortions and you’ll find the siphon points.

Or

  • Failsafe: Part of my hull is rumbling again. More geysers, maybe? It's hard to tell, the Vex are scrambling my scans.
  • Saint-14: Then we will remove them and help you search for data to siphon.

Or

  • Failsafe: Radiolaria pressure is building up again underground, but I can't tell where. Scans are all coming up blank.
  • Ikora Rey: Scout overland and you should see traces, Guardian.

Or

  • Failsafe: I do not enjoy having highly-pressurized supercharged radiolaria so near my hull! Please stop them, Guardian!
  • Ikora Rey: The pressure is coming from underground. Its point of emergence should be detectable.

Or

  • Failsafe: Heads up, fireteam. Scans are showing a geothermic surge near you. Also, it's shaking my shattered caboose.
  • Saint-14: The Vex will be waiting. Break them, and claim the data they've brought us.

Post-Shell

  • Maya Sundaresh: My Vex are encouraged to develop individuality. To test new ways of living. What part of this is so hateful to you?
  • Failsafe: Perhaps I am carrying a grudge from the time the Vex killed everyone I loved! Captain, pressure's building up again. Tracking epicenter…

Conflux Guards objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: Data-stream broadcast detected leaving Nessus. Who are they talking to, and why do it like this?
  • Osiris: Other Vex. They aren't even trying to conceal the source… Why not make contact through their own internal networks? No matter. Intercept it, and perhaps we shall have our answers.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, Saint-unit. I have located a strong Vex data-stream broadcasting nearby.
  • Saint-14: The Guardian will redirect their call to you so no other Vex will hear it.

Or

  • Ikora Rey: Redirecting the data stream will allow us to study it, while preventing the Vex from receiving it. I appreciate tactics so… tidy.
  • Failsafe: The tactics are neat, but the lasers are itchy. My haptic feedback gets weird around Vex energy signatures.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Vex are sending out more data. Like, way more data. And they don't want us reading it.
  • Ikora Rey: A more complex lock only requires a new key. Or perhaps, a set of lockpicks. Either way, kill that signal.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Vex have begun emitting another data-stream, now with more encryption!
  • Osiris: The last signal we intercepted was reaching out to the collective. We must ensure they remain disconnected from the greater network. Go.

Or

  • Failsafe: Another outgoing data-stream has been detected. Whoa, this is some old-looking code.
  • Saint-14: It does appear more complex. No matter, our mission is the same: stop their communications.

Post-Shell

  • Failsafe: If you're gonna stick around making my diodes ache, can you at least tell us where you're beaming this data?
  • Maya Sundaresh: If I wish to expand my grasp, it is only to reach out for a second Golden Age.
  • Failsafe: You could just say no.

Fallen Mercenaries objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: Danger, fireteam. Drop pod impacts detected nearby.
  • Ikora Rey: There is some new force at work driving the Shadow Legion. Stop them here before it drives them further.

Or

  • Failsafe: A whole lot of hostile Fallen just popped up on my radar. Seems like mostly the enemy of my enemy is also my enemy.

Or

  • Failsafe: A lot of bogeys on your tail, Captain. They must also want data — too bad.

Or

  • Failsafe: Fallen Skiff detected leaving the area. Must be those pirates working with the Legion. Careful, Cap.

Or

  • Failsafe: Looks like the Shadow Legion are still interested in Nessus. Well, this planetoid's not big enough for the both of us!
  • Saint-14: Surely the Echo brought them here. You will stop them.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, Fallen inbound. They appear to be using Shadow Legion channels to communicate.
  • Osiris: Hmm, a peculiar alliance. One we will crush here.

Or

  • Failsafe: Fallen incoming! I have seen this crew repeatedly enter Shadow Legion territory. With no casualties on either side.
  • Ikora Rey: It's likely the Shadow Legion are offering them the security a House would otherwise provide. In exchange for… what?

Post-Shell

  • Failsafe: We've got Fallen on the way. And they look mad.
  • Maya Sundaresh: There is no love lost between my Vex and the Fallen. By all means, eliminate them for me.

Vex Counterattack objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: I don't know what's on that data you stole, but a lot of heat's coming your way to get it back.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, reload your weapons. Targets are closing on your location.

Or

  • Failsafe: Wow, this hellish battle is the most people have visited me in years.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, the Vex took everything I loved. I will be cheering their destruction on from a safe distance.

Hack the Conflux objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: Ghost, this one's on you. Hey, Captain, uh... Keep him alive. He's had it rough lately.

Or

  • Failsafe: The only explosions I want to see on Nessus are the ones you cause, Captain!

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, high-yield EMP charges detected. Defuse them or they will ruin our data... and my brain!

Or

  • Failsafe: Can everyone stop trying to destroy Nessus for one second?! Captain, Ghost please neutralise the Fallen ordnance.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Fallen are not playing around. Neither should you.

Or

  • Failsafe: Hey, Captain! Fallen bombs ahead, and they're modified with Shadow Legion tech. Let's cut their wires.

Or

  • Failsafe: Electro-plasmic trigger detected! That bomb is serious business. It'll wipe data from this whole valley if we don't defuse it.

Cabal Generators objective[edit]

  • Failsafe: This should play to your strengths, Captain. It is time to blow things up!

Or

  • Failsafe: Legion generators are tapping into Nessus' power structure. They will surely be assimilated. Suggestion: explosive intervention.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, I've detected Shadow Legion structures emitting erratic power signatures and corrupting the data here. Destroy them.

Or

  • Failsafe: Bad news: these guys, don't look too happy to meet you. Good news: explosives!

Or

  • Failsafe: I know these are different Cabal, but I would still love to get them back for years of drilling.

Or

  • Failsafe: I've located Shadow Legion machinery in need of demolition, Captain. Make them regret bringing such big bombs.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Shadow Legion aren't drawing power, they're pushing it into the soil... Weird. And the Vex are... responding? Okay, we should blow this up.

Choral Minds boss[edit]

  • Failsafe: The Vex are mad about this batch of data. Like... mad-mad! Don't let them take it out on you.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Vex are sending in their big guns, Captain.

Or

  • Failsafe: Woah, something's activated a lock-out trigger in your data-haul. I have traced the source of the interruption. Happy hunting!

Or

  • Failsafe: I do not believe the Vex will let you go peacefully. They are mustering an army!

Or

  • Failsafe: Vex activity increasing! They are sending out Keres-designation hostiles. Stay sharp, Guardian.

Or

  • Failsafe: Caution: Keres-designation Wyvern detected. Keres is a mythological spirit of death.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, mythologically, decapitation is the worst method for handling a hydra… but I believe in you to make it work.

Or

  • Failsafe: If they cannot kill you, the Vex will try capturing you. Do not let them! It is… unpleasant.

Or

  • Failsafe: The Vex are sending a Harvester Mind to reclaim their lost data. And terminate the culprit. Looks like you got one more fight.

Shard of Contempt boss[edit]

  • Failsafe: Unrecognized energy signature detected. Vanguard reference search designates this as, "Resonance. Tormentor." That sounds bad.

Or

  • Failsafe: Light 'em up, Captain.

Or

  • Failsafe: Hey, Captain. You've got a problem incoming. A large, mostly bullet-proof problem.

Or

  • Failsafe: Shadow Legion... er... monstrosity detected, I think. My scanners can't quite... tell what I'm looking at here.

Or

  • Failsafe: I suggest activating infrared! Oh, sorry! Forgot you don't have that one. [chuckles] Um... Good luck.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, an adversary of infinite nothing has entered the battlefield to oppose you. Beat 'em up!

Guardian Slayer boss[edit]

  • Failsafe: That Vex Mind just called you a —[ Profanity Restricted]. Wow, I would be outraged and retaliate with violence.

Or

  • Failsafe: Captain, there is a Vex Mind calling reinforcements to the area and jamming our transmat signal. Delete 'em.

Or

  • Failsafe: Looks like a Minotaur is trying to build a labyrinth out of Vex fodder. You can utilize your skills as a battering ram!

Or

  • Failsafe: Ugh, we tripped some kind of security threshold, but the alarm signal is centralized on a Minotaur. That's your target, Captain.

Or

  • Failsafe: Incoming Vex. They must have a death wish if they locked themselves in a fight with you. I say, grant it.

Or

  • Failsafe: Proximity scans show a horrifying number of Vex surging into the region. Destroying their uplink to that Minotaur will slam the door in their collective metal faces.

Or

  • Failsafe: A Vex Mind is redirecting forces to your location, Captain. It has given itself a name, the "Guardian Slayer". How bold!

Or

  • Failsafe: Vex signatures are incoming, and one of them is jamming my transmat beacon.

Data Carrier spawns[edit]

  • Failsafe: And there's their leader finally out of hiding. Now we're all here, except me, physically, ready to fight.

Or

  • Failsafe: Mercenary leader stepped put of their cloaking field and right into your sights. Target marked, Captain.

Or

  • Failsafe: Enemy commander spotted on the field.

Or

  • Failsafe: Vex Mind downloading nearby. They are assuming command of the frames here. Now they've made themselves a target.

Or

  • Failsafe: Hey, you drew out their commander. An attack of opportunity is advised!

Or

  • Failsafe: Field commander sighted in the vicinity. Hit 'em hard!

Max Data[edit]

  • Failsafe: Data for me means an assist for you!

Or

  • Failsafe: May I help secure that data, Captain? That beautiful data?

Or

  • Failsafe: I am pleased to assist, Captain!

Or

  • Failsafe: I’d do anything to get that data. Anything.

Or

  • Failsafe: That is a lot of data! Stepping in!

Or

  • Failsafe: Rendering assistance. May I join your fireteam, Captain?

Or

  • Failsafe: Your faithful Failsafe is here.

Or

  • Failsafe: Look what I can do!

Depositing Data[edit]

  • Failsafe: Fireteam member with high data yield found. Your achievement has been memorialized in my memory core.

Or

  • Failsafe: I like to see you looking so strong and powerful... and murderous.

Or

  • Failsafe: It is more beautiful than I could have dreamed...

Or

  • Failsafe: Er, there are days where I really miss having access to my railgun.

Or

  • Failsafe: Data acquired! Please accept this in exchange.

Or

  • Failsafe: Please accept this gift. And mulch some Vex with it.

Or

  • Failsafe: Recording gear primed to see what you make of that, Captain!

Or

  • Failsafe: I bet the Vex are boiling in their tanks processing that data loss.

Or

  • Failsafe: Never say I do nothing for you, Captain. I am a born helper.

Or

  • Failsafe: Show me what that one does!

Guardian defeated[edit]

  • Failsafe: Did anyone see who knocked the Captain's data out? Cuz you should return the favor.

Or

  • Failsafe: Large data spill detected!

Or

  • Failsafe: No names, but someone lost a big haul, and exploded — like when I crashed here!

Fireteam down[edit]

  • Failsafe: Fireteam down! Oh, no... it's happening again!

Or

  • Failsafe: Fireteam down! Hey, it happens. Take a breather. That's what I've been doing.

Time Over[edit]

  • Failsafe: Your execution of this task was adequate!

Or

  • Failsafe: You've achieved minimum expectations!

Completion[edit]

  • Failsafe: Guardian secured.

  • Failsafe: You ever get out of the Tower, Ikora? It sounds like the Vanguard are stuck up there good.
  • Ikora Rey: It's my duty. I miss the freedom of my younger days, but I can help the most from… up here.
  • Failsafe: Wow. And nobody even crash-landed you across miles of planetoid to make you do it.

Or

  • Osiris: For a moment, it felt as if Nessus meant to swallow your fireteam whole. The very ground radiates Vex influence. Code written into the stone as prophecy. And the mountains kneel.
  • Failsafe: Get me off this ride. Am I right? When the Vex took Nessus it was like a well-organized renovation disaster. But now, they're just duking it out in the streets. What gives?
  • Osiris: Such is the question. I've rarely seen Vex factions in conflict. But this… this is chaos. Perhaps the data will make some sense of it.

Or

  • Ikora Rey: Well done, Guardian. Failsafe, I'll look forward to your analysis.
  • Failsafe: I'll try… but the Vex never made sense, and now they're acting weirder than ever. I don't know if it's possible to understand them.
  • Ikora Rey: Don't say that to Osiris. You might wound his scholarly pride.
  • Failsafe: What if I want to wound his pride?
  • Ikora Rey: Then I only ask that you record his reaction.

Or

  • Saint-14: Fireteam, your data is secure.
  • Failsafe: Huh, that's weird.
  • Saint-14: It is not weird. The Guardian does not fail.
  • Failsafe: No, I mean normally Vex procedures trickle down from the top minds, you know? But these are all talking to each other instead.
  • Saint-14: I see… Hmm, that is strange. We cannot rely on bringing them down by cutting off the head then. Ah, no matter. We have enough fists for them all.

Or

  • Saint-14: Failsafe, does this data mention the star that fell from the Traveler?
  • Failsafe: Initial scans determined it was not a star. A star would have violently annihilated Nessus, among other things.
  • Saint-14: You know what I meant.
  • Failsafe: I did, Saint-unit. I was employing, you know… humor? Short answer: no. But I am seeing multi-threaded code arranged as clefs.
  • Saint-14: Clef, you say? The Vex use such strange names. We will find this "Clef" and crush the answer out of it.
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit. A clef is not a punchable Vex, but a method of musical arrangement. I will send you a diagr—
  • Saint-14: Haha! You believed I was confused, but I was not! Now it is I who have caught you with a joke! I win.

Or

  • Saint-14: Congratulations, fireteam! Your data is secure.
  • Osiris: This, this code, is presenting differently than previous Vex structures I've analyzed. Huh, curious…
  • Failsafe: Oh, yeah. That's all messed up. Is it… a virus? Should I purge it? Let me purge it! I wanna purge some Vex!
  • Osiris: Calm down. It almost seems so, but no, I believe this is a form of adaptation. But what spurred it?
  • Failsafe: Maybe the data we just got will tell us!

Post-Mesmerize

  • Failsafe: Data acquired, Captain. Processing packets for Vanguard transfer.
  • Saint-14: Yes… data. It will show us what is true and what is not.
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit, may I offer an observation?
  • Saint-14: If you must.
  • Failsafe: Your friends present data, affirming your place. The Conductor presents data to the contrary. I suggest the only data that matters, is yours. If I internalized everything people said about me, it would get pretty dark in here. The only one who knows about you, is you.

Or

  • Failsafe: Data extraction complete. And everyone lived!
  • Osiris: Yes, though death by Vex may not be the only thing we have to fear on Nessus. Failsafe, narrow your decryption endeavors. Find any segments of code referencing their attack on Saint. If the Conductor can compel him, any of us could be vulnerable. We must be cautious with our patrol deployments. I shudder to think what she would do with you, Guardian.
  • Failsafe: That is a terrifying though. I'll store it with the others.

Or

  • Failsafe: Ikora, you have the greatest amount of relevant data. Are Osiris and the Saint-unit ever gonna communicate effectively?
  • Ikora Rey: They're used to navigating hard times. We Guardians live long enough to weather any number of storms.
  • Failsafe: But now they're making it my problem.
  • Ikora Rey: Yes… They are used to that, as well.

Or

  • Saint-14: Osiris thinks I am someone that I am not. His expectations of me… [sighs]
  • Failsafe: My counseling profile stresses that "communication is key". Normally, it is the silence that is the worst. Normally. Talk to Osiris.
  • Saint-14: What he went through to find me — to save me. I fear my questions would leave only wounds.
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit, our best-friendship is new, but Osiris seems like the kind of guy who likes talking about problems, especially hard ones.
  • Saint-14: You are right, but I am anxious… I never feel this way before a fight, so maybe it will not be one. Thank you, Failsafe.

Or

  • Ikora Rey: Data on its way to analysis. There is much to learn, and little time to learn it. You saved Saint-14 once before, Guardian. I regret that we're making this request of you again. But maybe that means you're the best equipped to get it done.

Or

  • Failsafe: Data secure. Recalling fireteam. Osiris, I can tell you need to talk. As a colony-ship A.I., I am outfitted with several counseling profiles. Would you like to use my expertise?
  • Osiris: Why not? I am at a loss... How do you convince someone they are who they've always felt themselves to be? H-how do I show him… all my memories are only of him, not some other us?
  • Failsafe: Uhhh… maybe just say that?
  • Osiris: [chuckles] If he would only listen, perhaps it would be that easy. Say, those you advised, what became of them?
  • Failsafe: They're all happily buried together. Some not far from here!

Post-Shell

  • Osiris: Extraction successful. Welcome back. Failsafe? Are you bothering that frog again? Failsafe? [sighs] No matter. Good work, Guardian. I will make sure your data is processed with the utmost attention and scrutiny. I'll do it myself…

Or

  • Maya Sundaresh: Go analyze your scraps of data, and you will understand that I am doing this for humanity's sake. For what we've lost.
  • Failsafe: I lived through one Golden Age already. It didn't end great.
  • Maya Sundaresh: The generation of the Golden Age accepted failure. I do not.

Or

  • Maya Sundaresh: I gifted my Vex the ability to choose — to learn new ways. In time, they might learn to become anything. When you respond to them with nothing violence, what choices are you driving them towards?

Or

Ikora Rey: There must be something we can learn of the Conductor in this data. I've reviewed all my reading on Maya Sundaresh, all my memories of Lakshmi-2, and I still cannot reconcile them with the Conductor. Was it the influence of the Vex? Of the Echo itself? As of yet, we have no way to know.

Failsafe: Sometimes people don't need a reason to make bad choices. They just need an excuse. But then again, I am a cynic.

Or

  • Failsafe: Do we know anything about the Conductor? Forewarned is forearmed or whatever.
  • Ikora Rey: Osiris has been collating information on Maya Sundaresh from Neomuna's archives. Nimbus left some notes with their Neomuni perspective. The first one says, "Seriously bad vibes." I'll forward you Osiris' draft.

Or

  • Saint-14: Data extraction completed and here we stand, free from the clutches of the Vex.
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit, I am glad that your confidence has returned. If the Conductor tries that again, just do what I do. Mute your audio-feed and fill in the blanks yourself.
  • Saint-14: Haha! Well said, Failsafe. You give good advice, friend.
  • Failsafe: [gasps] Friend...

Post-Encore: Coda

  • Osiris: Data secure. With any luck we can use it to track the Conductor's influence through the Vex network.
  • Failsafe: What do you think she's doing in there?
  • Osiris: Spreading her doctrine, assimilating other Vex enclaves... Perhaps, still fueled by the delusion that she can find an acceptable Chioma. It is a shame that her mind has been fractured so... Maya could have been an invaluable ally.

Or

  • Ikora: If we're fortunate, this will give us a lead to the Conductor's current plans. As Lakshmi, she didn't have the instinct to compromise, but she was tempered by the people around her. The Conductor came into being among the Vex she controls. She has no community of peers. Only pawns. Whatever restraint and empathy Lakshmi had, we will not find in the Conductor.

Or

  • Saint-14: Extraction complete. Guardians, you are safe, and your data is secure. Now that everyone is out of danger... Failsafe—
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit, do you want to come play with my new batadactyls?!
  • Saint-14: [laughs] Yes, and pet your frog. Very much. I will bring my chicken, the Colonel.
  • Failsafe: A CHICKEN? Captain Jacobson, Babata, and Petris will be honored to receive such a highly-decorated officer. I will put out snacks.

Or

  • Ikora: Data secured. Thank you for all your help, Failsafe. Your analysis was, and remains, invaluable.
  • Failsafe: No problem! That part is way easier than talking to Osiris and the Saint-unit about their feelings!
  • Ikora: I thank you for your patience with them, as well.

Or

  • Saint-14: Data secured. Hmm, I wonder if the Vanguard should assign devoted patrols to Nessus. It is too dangerous to leave unwatched.
  • Failsafe: You mean it!? Defending Nessus with a Guardian partner would be very exciting!
  • Saint-14: Haha, I do... Just because the Conductor is not here physically does not mean the threat is gone. Hmm, maybe I will visit myself.
  • Failsafe: Saint-unit. I would be honored to be your patrol sidekick. But we might need to restock my armory.
