Transmat to Neomuna with your fellow Guardians to combat the grid-shattering chaos of Terminal Overlord!

Terminal Overload is a Guardian-initiated activity that can be triggered as a Public Event on Neomuna, similar to Escalation Protocol, Court of Oryx and the Blind Well, where a team of Guardians engage both Shadow Legion and Sol Collective forces in an attempt to protect the CloudArk from hacks.

Gameplay[edit]

In the area designated for Terminal Overload, Sizmic, the Net-Desecrator will appear alongside the Disruptor Array and start channeling from within it into the ground. Nimbus will announce its arrival via comms, and a Heavy Ammo Crate will be present near the Psion. To begin the activity, one should destroy the three Pyramid Spikes of the Array, which will cause Sizmic to stop channeling and disappear.

Phase 1[edit]

Stage 1

After the Array disappears, the Shadow Legion will arrive to repel the Guardians. More and more powerful troops will arrive, including Interceptor Pilots and a Thresher, until the 100% completion is achieved. At this point, all remaining Shadow troops will disappear.

Stage 2

The Vex will steal away the array, forcing Guardians to chase after them in a different spot. They will have to stand in a Sync Plate, withstanding the attack of Vex ground troops, until it is fully synchronized. This will make the three cubic Oracles vulnerable, and cause Arc Cranium Bearer Minotaurs to spawn, whose Vex Craniums can be used to destroy the oracles.

Stage 3

After the Oracles are down, the Vex will send in Minotaur Accompli to further delay the Guardians, which has to be slain to conclude the stage. Remaining Vex will teleport away and the Cabal will reclaim their weapon.

Stage 4

The Shadow Legion will return under the leadership of Ludus, Array Foreguard, who will fire upon Guardians and call even more reinforcements. Once Ludus reaches half health, they will activate an Immunity Shield, and three Portable Cabal Shields will appear in the area. Destroying the generators will drop Ludus's shield, which will make the Colossus vulnerable.

Defeating the Foreguard will complete Phase 1, and Sizmic will return in another spot with the array. Phase 2 can be started as explained above.

Phase 2[edit]

They will have to stand in a Sync Plate, withstanding the attack of Vex aerial units, until it is fully synchronized. This will make the three cubic Oracles vulnerable, and cause Arc Cranium Bearer Minotaurs to spawn, whose Vex Craniums can be used to destroy the oracles.

Stage 3

After the Oracles are down, the Vex will send in Minotaur Harpax to further delay the Guardians, which has to be slain to conclude the stage. Remaining Vex will teleport away and the Cabal will reclaim their weapon.

Stage 4

As soon as Harpax falls, orbital strikes will start raining down on nearby Guardians. They will have to seek out three nearby Psion Spotters, who are hiding behind their fellows. Killing the Psions will cause Testu'udo, Array Bulwark to Transmat in and start raining ordnance on the Guardians. Once the tank reaches half health, it will become immune and three more Spotters will appear via Drop Pod, causing the bombardment to resume. Slaying these Spotters ends the bombardment and leaves Testu'udo vulnerable.

Defeating the Bulwark will complete Phase 2, and Sizmic will return in another spot with the array. Phase 3 can be started as explained above.

Phase 3[edit]

Stage 1

After the Array disappears, Sizmic will return, this time at the head of more troops to personally rout the Guardians. They will initially be invulnerable, but after a few seconds Phalanxes called Net-Desecrator's Exploited will appear. Killing the Exploited will drop a well of resonant energy, which will give anyone standing in it the Shield Breaker buff. Using this buff allows one to damage Sizmic's shield, eventually making the Psion vulnerable. Sizmic will reactivate its shield if not constantly damaged, but when they are slain, the stage will be complete, and remaining Shadow Legion troops will leave.

Stage 2

The Vex send forth their last resort, Protometon, Nexial Hijacker. The Minotaur will summon hordes of troops and launch blinding Grenades. Once it loses a third of health, Protometon will become invulnerable and invoke three Oracles, which must be destroyed to continue the fight, as well as place several Seeker traps. It will repeat this tactic once more for the last third of its health, but it will then be vulnerable, and its death will complete the event.

Rewards[edit]

Each stage of Terminal Overload rewards a chest containing Public Event-tier loot. Once the third stage is cleared, players can open both a World Drop chest, and a Terminal Overload chest, which requires a Terminal Overload Key to open and awards large amounts of Reputation and one of three exclusive weapons. One of these is also awarded once per week by Quinn Laghari for defeating foes in the activity.

Trivia[edit]

  • Terminal Overload was originally advertized as a 6-player activity, much like The Wellspring from The Witch Queen, before its description was changed some time before the launch of Lightfall.
