Xillox, Oppression of Xivu Arath was a Hive Wrathborn Wizard serving Xivu Arath, God of War. Sometime following her corruption, the Spider tasked the Guardian to hunt the Wizard and put an end to her misery.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

To encounter Xillox, players must first place a lure on a Cryptolith found in Divalian Mists.

The lure will attract a Hive Wrathborn Ogre. Corrupted Revenant Knights, with the same Wrathborn effect (a green glow around their head-torso region), will spawn as well. Upon killing them, they will drop pools of Wrathful energies that will buff the player. This buff will increase weapon damage similar to the effects of Divinity and give players the "Wrathful" buff. Upon depleting its health, the Ogre will abandon the Cryptolith and retreat. Players are then tasked with preventing its escape by locating its lair in Spine of Keres via following its blood trail. A quest beacon will pop up and allow them to start the "Track the Wrathborn" activity. Players are recommended to read through the modifiers and be of 1150+ Light level before they begin their hunt.

The activity starts at the Spine of Keres, where players need to defeat the nearby Hive before placing another lure by the Cryptolith. The Wrathborn Ogre will re-emerge with its depleted health and defeating it will summon a larger Wrathborn, this being Xillox.

Xillox possesses many of the same abilities as In Anânh, Brood Queen, including Solar projectiles, a ground slam attack for nearby players, and her charged, "Fire Nova Gaze" attack that will cause dangerously high amount of damage—and possibly kill you—if you do not find cover. However, she is incapable of summoning a Shade or creating Void Brood Spike traps like the Brood Queen. She will spawn with an immunity shield, alongside Wrathborn corrupted Knights. Killing these Knights will again allow players to gain the "Wrathful" buff by standing inside the green pools they drop. This buff will enable them to deal damage to the Wizard. This buff will enable them to damage boss's shield, as well deal extra damage to it. If players leave the pool or if it dissipates, the buff will last for four seconds before they have to get back in the pool or kill another Knight to spawn a new one. It is recommended players remain in the pool for as long as possible and use heavy weaponry to counter Xillox's high durability and defeat the Brood Queen for good. Not shooting Xillox for long enough, like any Wrathborn boss, will result in her regenerating her shield.
