The Spine of Keres is a location in the Dreaming City that features the tower that houses the Oracle Engine, as well as an entrance to the Confluence. It used to serve as a place for Techeuns to meditate and train,[1] and the coven mother Illyn often took her trainees here to remember the old epics.[2] The area houses various relics, like an ansible lens used to communicate between Awoken cities[3] and even broadcast messages into the past,[4] model of a dual-ringed planet,[5] and a mysterious map conjured by Mara Sov.[6] It is also the location of a summoning spire where the Techeuns would call the Harbingers.[7]
Trivia[edit]
- Bushes of pink asphodelia cultivated from the Black Garden flowers grow in the Spine of Keres. Shuro Chi remarks she could still smell them at the time of being Taken.[8]
- There is a mysterious statue that appeared overnight in the cave under the Spine of Keres. Shuro Chi theorises it could have been manifested by the Dreaming, as they have been known to appear as "strange faces, peering from rocks".[9]
