The Cornea was a special Vex Cyclops that appeared inside the Endless Gate during The Festering Core Strike. It was sent to protect the Supercomputer from the incursion of Guardians and Taken. When playing the Nightfall version of the strike, the Cyclops would be replaced by Vazimos, the Ensnaring.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The Cornea will spawn alongside several other Vex units near the end of the boss fight against Baurisk, Envoy of Savathûn, when it has retreated after its health has been reduced reduced to its last third. The Major and it allies must be eliminated before the fight can resume. Just like the Retina before it, as well as the unique Quantum Cyclopses found throughout the earlier parts of the strike, the Cornea is capable of detaining players within Suppression Fields, holding them in place until they are destroyed. This ability is telegraphed by the white and light-blue energy emitted by the Cyclops before it activates it.
