Pillar of Devotion is a Scorn Chieftain that serves as the protector of the lower temple within the Maelstrom.

Gameplay

The Pillar of Devotion is encountered within the lower temple, where it appears alongside its Subjugators before they teleport away. It wields a staff that fires charged Arc projectiles and can also use it to summon Wrath of the Scorned, electric circles that deal shock damage, and can summon Scorn units to its aid. To lower its shield, the Guardian must slay the two Subjugators of the Devoted across the temple to lower the barrier around the Aegis and use it to pierce the Pillar's shield. When the Guardian retrieves the shield, the Pillar will respond by summoning Ravagers for reinforcements. Once the Guardian destroys its shield and damages half of its health, the Pillar's shield will return and the Guardian must once again defeat the Subjugators (now bearing Prismatic Protection) to lower the barrier around the Aegis. When the Guardian destroys its shield once again, the Pillar will summon fourth hordes of Scorn. Once the Pillar of Devotion is slain the encounter is complete.

Trivia

  • The Pillar of Devotion is the only other Chieftain, aside from Fikrul, the Fanatic, to be seen wielding a staff.
