Methodios, Module Proxy was an Ultra Vex Minotaur that is encountered as the final boss of The Gateway Mission. It attempted to prevent the Guardian from gaining access to the Lighthouse, but was destroyed in the process.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The entrance portal to the Lighthouse is blocked by a shielded Vex construct projecting a barrier in front of it. More forces of the Sol Imminent will arrive to defend the portal. After you fought through the waves of Vex blocking your path, Methodios will spawn with more reinforcements in a last ditch effort to push back the attacker. Methodios wields a Torch Hammer into battle, firing at the player with explosive blasts of Void energy. Despite its size, it is capable of moving rather fast, and can teleport to nearby parts of the area to briefly avoid incoming fire. The Minotaur can stomp the ground as a close-ranged attack, creating a powerful shock wave that will send the player flying back if they are too close, and potentially causing large amounts of damage. However, the boss is not particularly resilient against attacks, and can be brought down quickly with use of Super abilites or power weapons, such as Swords or Rocket Launchers. Once you have defeated Methodios, the shield protecting the barrier module will be deactivated, allowing the player to destroy it and proceed to the Lighthouse, where Brother Vance awaits.

Trivia[edit]

  • Given that the name 'Methodios' comes from the word "method", and "module" means a set of complex parts, it could be implying that the Minotaur is capable of producing intricate components using methodical thought.
