Battlegrounds (activity format)

Battlegrounds are a three-player arena matchmaking activity format, similar to strikes, that were first introduced with the original Battlegrounds activity, released in Season of the Chosen. Each battleground activity follows certain story elements and objectives relevant to the season it was released with.

Featured in Vanguard Ops
- Battlegrounds, the original activity, introduced in Season of the Chosen.
- PsiOps Battlegrounds, introduced in Season of the Risen.
- Heist Battlegrounds, introduced in Season of the Seraph.
- Defiant Battlegrounds, introduced in Season of Defiance.
Seasonal Activity
- Battleground: Echoes, introduced in Episode: Echoes.

There are currently 16 playable Battlegrounds (compared to the 20 playable or reworked Strikes, with another 9 Vaulted), with each seasonal set having added an additional 3, except for original set of Battlegrounds introduced in Season of the Chosen, which launched with 4:
