- "Breakthrough, or broken?"
- — Weapon Description
Centrifuse is an Exotic Auto Rifle introduced in Season of the Deep. It was previously available at the Season pass and is now currently available at the Monument to Lost Lights.
Perks
- Intrinsic perk: Overcharge Capacitor - Sprinting, sliding, and firing this weapon builds a temporary electrostatic charge, increasing range and reload speed. Final blows with high charge cause explosions, and maximum charge explosions blind targets.
- Corkscrew Rifling: Balanced barrel.
- Slightly increases range and stability.
- Slightly increases handling speed.
- Appended Mag: This weapon's magazine is built for higher capacity.
- Increases magazine size.
- Regenerative Motion: Sprinting gradually reloads this weapon.
- Hand Laid Stock: This weapon is optimized for recoil control.
- Increases stability.
Catalyst
The catalyst can be acquired by completing the “Higher Voltage” quest from Banshee-44. Once completed by getting 700 kills with the weapon, the catalyst grants the following perk:
- Static Buildup: While amplified, this weapon gradually gains overcharge.
Lore
"BREAKTHROUGH, OR BROKEN?"
Excerpts from a pre-Collapse report, logged by Dr. Khatun-Rowe, a researcher in the Engineering Division of the New Pacific Arcology, Titan:
Since Dr. Pell's breakthrough on methods of magnetic containment last year, we've successfully stabilized multiple ionic reactors. They have allowed us to expand our division's plasma technology work beyond research into development…
[Because] the Arcology's turbines have been generating more energy than the facility consumes, leadership has decided, over the objections of D.M. Korosec, to focus initial trials on force-multiplying technology. Ostensibly, leadership's hope is to supplement invasive and costly gene-splicing technology with power suits that could greatly extend our divers' uptime…
While the power suit initiative seems benign, [Arcology leadership's] insistence on controlled ionic emissions research is clearly geared toward weapon development.
Though I will, of course, give my full focus to our new directive, I pray these weapons remain prototypes, discarded and forgotten in the back room of history…
