"But why not go back further? To dash the whelp's skull in the pit, before he crawls out onto a throne?"
— Tazaroc, the Sun Eater

Tazaroc, the Sun Eater was a Psion Flayer seen serving the Red Legion hidden within Mercury's future. A co-leader along with her sisters Ozletc and Niruul, she represented Solar energy and was the middle sibling of her family unit.

Biography[edit]

"I serve this broken Empire no longer."
— Tazaroc[1]

Seeking a simulated future free of the Cabal in the Infinite Forest, Tazaroc and her sisters first discovered the hidden Sundial under the veil of a stealth skin. With an opportunity presenting itself, Tarazroc suggested that they rewrite the outcome of the Red War by manipulating Ghaul of his fate, against her sister Niruul's idea to launch a premeditated attack in the future. Instead, their eldest Ozletc suggested using the Sundial to both whichever is the most advantageous. For hours and days and weeks, the sisters labored over the machine. While her sisters defended her from the Vex, Niruul bent the device to their purposes and made it whir to life with the force of their combined will. Windows into other worlds, Mercury's true past and future, opened before them. The device stood at the center of all of it, an anchor point. And all along the fault lines of time, where the past and present and future met, Vex were ripped in half, sliced through by a knife of pure temporal energy. With the Red Legion at their command, The Psion sisters fractured Mercury's history into a past, present, and future open to their manipulation.[2]

Gameplay[edit]

Tazaroc serves as the third boss among the rotating bosses of The Sundial activity, after her sisters Niruul, the Hollow Voice and Ozletc, the Sky Piercer.

Tazaroc spawns from her rift once the console is activated. She will remain open to damage for most of the fight, but will use her Projection Rifle and guards to defend her. She also can melee a target with an additional knock-back ability to counter any melee-based attacker. On occasion, she will cast her Psionic Powers to conjure a volley of highly volatile Solar Seekers that can decimate a Guardian's health. Due to their high damage output, this attack should be avoided; so the Fireteam should seek cover from the direction these explosive rounds are coming from or try and strafe these bolts. Once a third of her health is lost, she will call for Psion Commanders to come to her aid, shielding her from all fire as well as calling for more resilient backup. The shield must be destroyed by eliminating the Psion Commanders in the area in a similar fashion to how a Councilor is supposed to be killed. Once all Commanders are killed, Tazaroc will be open to damage once again.
