Leviathan-Eater, Bane of the Ammonites (formerly known as Ir Uulxal) is a Hive Knight and champion of Xivu Arath. Known for killing the Leviathan that once graced the Ammonites, he would later be tasked with stealing the tithes to Eris Morn and to kill the Guardian in the process.

Biography

Once known as the Knight Ir Uulxal, he would be commanded by Xivu Arath to kill the Leviathan of Fundament and would succeeded at killing it and to become the bane of the Ammonite civilization. He would be commended for his efforts and be renamed to the Leviathan-Eater and earned the title of Bane of the Ammonites.[1]

Years later, he would be commanded again to steal the tithes created by the Guardian in order to empower Eris Morn to stop Xivu Arath. He would be summoned with a horde of Knights and Thrall near the end of their tithing and sought to test the strength of the Guardian if they were a worthy challenge.[2]

Gameplay

The Leviathan-Eater acts as the final boss of Mission: Conjure. He will first summon two Revenant Knights wielding Cleavers and Hive Shields, two Blistered Knights wielding Cleavers and a Warmonger Knight. He will teleport into the arena right on top of the Warmonger Knight, killing it in the process.

The Leviathan-Eater will appear with its Cleaver embedded into the ground and will stand up along with its summoned Knights and attack the player. He fights similarly to Zulmak and will stay at a distance while launching Fire Blasts as his Revenant and Blistered Knights fight for close combat. He will occasionally unleash a Sunspot on the ground, forcing the player to be on the move. It fought up close, he will slam his sword onto the ground, knocking the player away from his position and inflicting massive damage.

Upon reaching five sixths of his health, he will summon in groups of Thrall along with more Revenant Knights. Upon reaching two thirds of his health, he will slam his sword into the ground akin to Zulmak activating his wipe mechanic and teleport away.

Trivia

  • Ir Uulxal's appearance is similar to that of Zulmak, Instrument of Torment, but also possesses parts of the Age of Triumph ornaments for the King's Fall Warlock helmet on his crown.
  • There are several bugs affecting the Leviathan-Eater in Mission: Conjure:
    • The Leviathan-Eater may become stuck in its kneeling animation, in which case they will still move around and attack, but appear to be sliding.
    • The Leviathan-Eater may completly lose any AI and just stand near the arena's wall staring at it.
