Antioptes, Hypogean Sentinel is a massive Vex Cyclops that is encountered at the end of Battleground: Core.

Gameplay

Antioptes, Hypogean Sentinel serves as the final boss of the Battleground activity. To begin the encounter, the Guardians must destroy the Oracle facing the Cyclops. It possesses a Chronology Rifle, a more powerful variant of the Vex Laser Rifle, and is capable of shooting a large, Time Distortion projectile, which will cripplingly slow down the Guardians upon being hit. Antioptes will also summon forth reinforcements in the form of Choral Goblins and Uplifted Choral Minotaurs for assistance. When Antioptes loses a small portion of its health, it will activate its Vex Deletion Wall Protocols, which will move across the room in a circle and damage the Guardians if hit by them. Furthermore, Antioptes will teleport unto different platforms across the room as the deletion walls rotate. To briefly halt the wall protocol, Guardians must defeat the Vex units to lower the barrier around a Vex Node, and then destroy it to stall the wall's movement for a brief period of time. Alongside Antioptes will be a Vex Oracle, which can be destroyed to stun the Cyclops for a short period of time. Once Antioptes is slain, the encounter is complete, allowing the fireteam to claim their rewards.
