- — Grimoire description
Wretched Knights are Ultra Hive Knights encountered in the Prison of Elders.[1] Wretched Knights act as the enforcers of the Worm Keepers, using brute strength to keep the disparate Hive broods in the Prison of Elders in line. In return, the Wretched Knights hope to be rewarded with the spoils of the Light.[2]
Less powerful Wretched Knights also exist in other broods.[3]
Gameplay
In the Prison of Elders, the Wretched Knight behaves like a regular Knight except in Challenge of the Elders. In the Challenge of Elders the Wretched Knight gains the ability to summon floating Taken mines around the arena and push the player back with a ground punch. The punch does less damage than a regular melee.
A Major Wretched Knight also appears in the second encounter of Battleground: Foothold. When the hacking percentage reaches 75%, it will manifest alongside a massive horde of Hive, including two Disruptor Wizards and led by a Monstrosity Ogre. It assaults the hack room alongside other Knights, but has no special abilities or behaviors. If it still lives after the hack is completed, it will disappear soon after.
Trivia
- If the Wretched Knight is one of the bosses in the Challenge of Elders, the Hive room will have more banners than usual.
- They bear a resemblance to the Knights of the Spawn of Crota, yet they also possess the stakes found stabbed through the arms as those in the forces of the Hidden Swarm.
