Exotic Missions are a series of Quest Missions in Destiny 2 that serve as a means of acquiring certain Exotic Weapons or Armor. Many also feature secrets that allow players to earn unique cosmetic items such as Sparrows, jumpships, or Ghost shells.
List of exotic missions[edit]
Exotic Mission Rotator[edit]
Added in Season of the Witch, the Exotic Mission Rotator allows players to play a vaulted Exotic Mission, which rotates every week.[1] Weapons associated with missions that enter the rotator will become craftable if they weren't already, and players will also be able to acquire weapons and armor from an associated season (not necessarily the one when the mission was introduced). Players will need to own the expansion tied to the mission or have previously purchased the season tied to the gear in order to play.[2] Each mission can be played on Normal and Legendary difficulties, where Legendary completion is required to earn the Exotic Catalyst.
Rewards[edit]
Every completion of an Exotic Rotator Mission will grant the Exotic Weapon pattern for that mission, or an upgraded intrinsic trait for the weapon if the pattern is already unlocked.
On the first completion of each difficulty on a given week, the following rewards will be given:
- A guaranteed Deepsight seasonal weapon
- An unacquired seasonal armor piece, or a random seasonal weapon if all armor pieces are acquired
Players with a Xenology quest from Xûr will also gain extra progress towards the quest.
List of rotator missions[edit]
Exotic mission | Expansion/Season required | Completion rewards |
---|---|---|
Presage | Beyond Light or Season of the Haunted | Dead Man's Tale Season of the Haunted weapons |
Vox Obscura | The Witch Queen or Season of the Risen | Dead Messenger Season of the Risen weapons |
Operation: Seraph's Shield | The Witch Queen or Season of the Seraph | Revision Zero Season of the Seraph weapons |
//NODE.OVRD.AVALON// | Lightfall or Season of Defiance | Vexcalibur Season of Defiance weapons |
Starcrossed | Lightfall or Season of the Wish | Wish-Keeper Season of the Wish weapons |
Trivia[edit]
- Certain exotic missions are considered secret missions, meaning they were added to the game without any prior announcement and are accessible through means unknown until the Destiny community discovers them.
