"Sing them a lullaby of death and nothing more."
— Weapon description

Deathbringer is an Exotic Rocket Launcher acquired from the Faculties of the Skull Quest.

Gameplay[edit]

The best way to utilise this weapon is to treat it not as a rocket launcher, but rather a mini Nova bomb. The initial shot has a long arcing trajectory and both orb projectiles and initial shot travel extremely slowly, but each one that lands on nearby enemies will inflict massive splash damage. There are some who consider Deathbringer to be the spiritual successor of Dragon's Breath, in a sense.

The initial shot will fly for about 6.5 seconds before detonating on its own.

Weapon perks[edit]

  • Intrinsic trait - Dark Deliverance: Fires remotely detonated projectiles that drop Void orbs on combatants. Hold (trigger command) to fire, release to detonate.
  • Volatile Launch: This weapon is optimised for an especially explosive payload.
    • Greatly increases blast radius
    • Slightly decreases handling speed
    • Slightly decreases projectile speed
  • Alloy Casing: Reduces weight for faster reloads.
    • Greatly increases reload speed
    • Decreases stability
  • Dark Descent: The further a Void orb falls, the more powerful its detonation becomes.
  • Composite Stock: This weapon has a versatile dual-purpose stock.
    • Slightly increases stability
    • Slightly increases handling speed

Catalyst[edit]

  • Objectives: Defeat 400 Enemies
  • Dead Weight: Increases how quickly Dark Descent reaches its full potential.

Lore[edit]

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."
The following is a verbatim transcription of an official document for archival reasons. As the original content is transcribed word-for-word, any possible discrepancies and/or errors are included.

"Sing them a lullaby of death and nothing more."

"The Song is the antithesis. The Song is destruction. The failure to master the harmonies of life has birthed the anti-creation—the sullen frequencies of ruin. Those sweet melodies carry with them more than death—a rending of spirit and mind, a flaying of the physical self till nothing remains.

"The beauty of the cascading notes. The imperfect inflection of their tune… There has ever been, and will ever be, art in creation. So too in the act of annihilation—erasure and bittersweet finality. This is the Song's truest gift…

"In its wake, once the echoes have rung their last, there is only silence and the grand splendor of nothingness.

"Thus is the Song an end, and those who join its Choir are death, and nothing more."
