The Ascendant is a quest that is part of The Final Days series of quests offered by Micah-10.

Visit Micah-10 in the Lost City in the Pale Heart.

Welcome back. I've got another Ghost telemetry for you. This time it's Akasha. She's an unpartnered Ghost that has been systemically scanning Awoken territory for years. I got a lock on her beacon in the Dreaming City, probably still trying to find her Guardian. I need you to head out and find Akasha and bring her back safe and sound. I look forward to your return.

Search for Ghost telemetry in mission "Dark Monastery" in the Dreaming City.

Ghost: Not a lot of Ghosts go to the Dreaming City in search of a Guardian on account of the cyclical curse. Glint is one of the few who were successful. That doesn't make odds good for Akasha.

(Mission begins)
- Ghost: I got a read on Akasha's location, but her Light signature here isn't a straight trail like the others. It cuts in and out.
- The Crow: She's probably skipping through the Ascendant Plane — hold on. Glint and I devised some sensor modulations to help track between planes.
- Glint: Sending it to you now.
- Ghost: Thanks, Glint.
- The Crow: This is the same path Glint and I took hunting down Xivu Arath's High Celebrant all those years ago. It's familiar territory.
- Ghost: Then hopefully we'll be able to find Akasha before anything happens to her.
The Guardian heads to Harbinger's Seclude, fighting through Taken and Scorn. After entering the Ascendant Plane, they find a calcified statue of hands surrounding a head and send out their Ghost to scan it.
- Ghost: Akasha's signal winds through here. I think she was analyzing the Ley Lines, looking for something.
- The Crow: I'm seeing some... alarming things in your feed. There's a lot of movement in the Ley Lines, high transfer rates of matter...
- Mara Sov: The moment I turn my back. This has to be the work of Xivu Arath.
- The Crow: Far as I can tell, she didn't join the Witness, which means... she's playing us against each other.
- Mara Sov: I suppose it only makes sense. If the Witness succeeds she will cease to exist as she is. But if it fails... we will be weakened from our war. Vulnerable.
The Guardian kills the Priests of Incaru and shatters the ritual crystal. They escape back to Harbinger's Seclude.
- Ghost: Micah, I've found Akasha's beacon. She's not too far away in the Dreaming City.
- Micah-10: That's wonderful news. While you've been working, Crow and I have been going over the data from your feed.
- The Crow: Xivu Arath is moving Hive through the Ascendant Plane en masse. With Mara focused on holding back the final shape, they've gone unnoticed.
- Micah-10: Hopefully when you find Akasha, she'll have more to say on the subject. Good work, Guardian.

Search the Dreaming City for signs of Akasha.

Micah-10: I know Akasha. She's not looking for a Guardian, she's looking for the unknown. Whether it's the Aphelion, secrets of the Curse, or traces of Savathûn's influence. She's there looking for one thing: answers.

Akasha can be found in The Confluence by the door to The Shattered Realm before three statues of segmented Scorn.
Step 4[edit]
Return to the Arbor of Light in the Pale Heart to restore the Lost Ghost.

Micah-10: Akasha could use a little boost of extra Light to get her on her way. Thankfully, we have an abundant source on hand in the Arbor.

Return to the Arbor of Light to discuss next steps.

So this is interesting. Akasha returned some analytics from her scans of the Dreaming City's Ley Lines, and it's troubling. There's Hive activity through the Ascendant Plane. Xivu Arath's brood. And as far as I can tell, she's a no-show here. Which means she's cut her losses from the Witness. But that also means she's planning something else... If we make it out of this alive, I've got a bad feeling there'll be another war waiting for us on the horizon. Nothing we can do about that right now, though. Get back out there. One apocalypse at a time.
