Operation Thunderbolt (Twilight) is the second Mission of Season of the Deep, accessed through the Into the Depths quest. The Guardian coordinates with Sloane, Zavala, Saladin Forge and Ahsa to recover Egregore coral from the hunting grounds of a dangerous Wrathborn Servitor and its crazed Fallen brethren.

• Zavala: This is Operation Thunderbolt. Ahsa has alerted us to a shelf of coral infested with a fungal spore we can use. However, it's in hostile territory.

• Sloane: Always is, was, will be.

• Zavala: Indeed. Forward intel reports a Wrathborn Servitor patrols the area — and it is not alone. You have two sites to hit. Deploy excavation equipment, defend, and extract. Deputy Commander. Guardian. Divide and conquer. Bring the Drifter what he needs.

{Gameplay}

The Plunge, Dive Tank, New Pacific Arcology, Titan

The Guardian transmats in 200 meters into the Methane Sea.

The Guardian receives one of the offered blessings from Ahsa.

• Lord Saladin: I'm reading you, Guardians.

• Sloane: So the old man asked you to babysit?

• Lord Saladin: I'm your air superiority.

• Sloane: From aboard a Cabal cruiser? Never thought I'd see the day.

• Lord Saladin: Meet the Empress. Then I'll hear your judgement.

• Sloane: Fair enough. To be honest, it's just nice to be back running with the both of you.

• Lord Saladin: On that, we can agree.

The Guardian dives up to 1000 meters into the Methane Sea.

Mesopelagic Twilight, New Pacific Arcology, Titan

The Guardian enters a large air pocket.

• Sloane: That Servitor's onto us. I just met contact. Let's hustle, Guardian.

• Lord Saladin: It's been an age since I've seen you fight, Sloane. Had you been with us on the dragon hunts... You're the bait now. Guardian, you're next.

• Sloane: Goes against all my instincts, but I'll try to make myself look delicious.

The Guardian plants the Egregore Resonator and starts the drill.

• Sloane: Deploying drill. Let's get loud, Guardian.

The Guardian powers the drill with nearby fuel cells.

ALERT: Low Fuel!

• Lord Saladin: You'll need to keep those drills fueled and intact.

The drill runs out of power.

• Lord Saladin: Drill offline! Refuel it!

The Guardian repowers the drill with nearby fuel cells.

• Xivu Arath: DROWN THIS GIFT, AND REVEL IN IT. KNEEL, THAT I MAY LAY MY BLADE ACROSS THINE BREAST... THE QUIVER OF YOUR HEART TO RESONATE ITS BLACK EDGE.

• Sloane: Get out... of my head.

The drill completes its extraction.

• Sloane: Servitor's coming in hot, Guardian.

• Lord Saladin: Let it take you. Then... meet their challenge.

The Guardian is inflicted with Servitor's Fall.

The servitor, J4W-S, forcibly transmats the Guardian.

Asphyxiator’s Hollow, New Pacific Arcology, Titan

The Guardian is taken 5000 meters into the Methane Sea.

The Guardian plants the Egregore Resonator and confronts the servitor.

• Sloane: I bruised it for you, now take it down!

J4W-S, Wrath-Hunter Servitor arrives.

J4W-S forcibly transmats the Guardian to an isolated cavern, summoning allied Shield Servitors.

The Guardian destroys the Shield Servitors.

The Guardian defeats J4W-S, Wrath-Hunter Servitor.

The Guardian extracts the egregore coral.

• Sloane: Sites are secure, and you just punched us a way out.

• Lord Saladin: Good. You haven't lost a step.

• Sloane: Well, I've had a lot of dive time. But the Guardian took to the sea like a fish. Send over the submersible beacon and let's transmat this haul back to the rig.

• Lord Saladin: You're sure this new ally of yours is trustworthy?

• Sloane: Hasn't let me down yet. You asked me to trust you about the empress? Trust me about Ahsa.

The Guardian opens the Deep Chest.
