Destiny 2: New Light

Objective(s):

Pursue the Fallen and save a fragment of Rasputin from their grasp.

Destinypedia doesn't currently have a walkthrough for this level; could you write one?

The Fallen are on the move once again, and are looking for something within the Cosmodrome. Discover their intents and deny them control over what ever it is they seek.

Cry from the Grave is a follow-up Quest players acquire once beating Dusk Over the Cosmodrome and released alongside the new reprised Fallen S.A.B.E.R. After the defeat of the House of Dusk's Prime Servitor, Deksis, Guardians now must pursue the crippled and desperate forces across the Cosmodrome before they can enact their elusive Project Godshackle and enact their revenge.

Quest Steps[edit]

A Resurgence[edit]

  • Return to Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome

"I've hit a wall with this... Project Godshackle. But the Fallen are now on the move. Decryption or not, we need to get after them ASAP. Find me whenever you can" - Shaw Han

Transcript[edit]

{Vendor Cutscene}

  • Shaw Han - Guardian! Great timing. I've found some success in trying to break into the heavily encrypted data you took from your prior operation, but there's still some essential details I'm missing. What I can gather, however, is that they are after something here within these rusted yards and it's of such great importance that they've pooled a ton of assets into making something that can... uh, extract it? Interface with it? Yeah, as you can tell, they've intruder-proofed this "Project Godshackle". Irregardless, I wasn't buried in my work here, and picked up some Fallen movement within the Forgotten Shore. It appears the Fallen aren't done yet. ...and neither are we. Get after them, Guardian. Let's remind them who owns the Cosmodrome once more.

Testament[edit]

  • Investigate Fallen activity in the Forgotten Shore

"There's nothing in the Forgotten Shore but dilapidated boats, tarnished outposts and rampant Hive. I don't really know what the Fallen could want from that location but a good stronghold. Either way, we can't let them get comfortable there." - Shaw Han

Transcript[edit]

The Guardian begins the mission, some Skiffs fly overhead in the direction of the Forgotten Shore

  • Shaw Han - It seems the Fallen are keen on reinforcing whatever they are doing in the Forgotten Shore. I don't know why they're so keen on trying to- ...wait, I'm getting something. There's a signal being emitted on an open channel.
  • ??? - [Garbled Static]
  • Ghost - That's strange, it's heavily garbled, as if something is jamming it. Well, whatever it is, it's coming from the Forgotten Shore.
  • Shaw Han - There's no Guardian forces that I know of out there. Either someone is pinned down by the House of Dusk or that signal is something they are intercepting.
  • Ghost - Either way, let's find out and get the Fallen out of there.

The Guardian enters the Forgotten Shore

  • Ghost - Not seeing a lot of heavy ordnance here, but am picking up... signal amplifiers? Are the Fallen broadcasting something?
  • Shaw Han - Maybe. Or maybe they're trying to decipher it better.
  • Ghost - One way to find out. Guardian, get me to one of those devices.

The Guardian interfaces with one, a Skiff arrives to drop off reinforcements

  • Ghost - OKAY, I don't think the Fallen like that. I'll try to work as fast as I can, keep them off of me.

The reinforcements are slain and background noise from the amplifier disappears

  • Ghost - Crud, the signal vanished. I think the Fallen remotely disabled the amplifier.
  • Shaw Han - Odd that they don't want you to hear it. Maybe they are trying to set up a comms relay here.
  • Ghost - Weird place to establish it, out in the open like this.
  • Shaw Han - Yeah. Let's find another, see if we can keep the Fallen out this time.

The Guardian interfaces with one by the Reaver Vandal's cave and eliminates the reinforcements. Russian is heard through the device.

  • Ghost - Wait... Is that Russian? Are the Fallen trying to tap into Human communications here?
  • Shaw Han - It's likely. Perhaps it's some form of payback for what we did to them last time.
  • Ghost - Something isn't right here. Get me to that last amplifier. Perhaps there, we'll get some much needed answers.

The Guardian interacts with the last one at the outpost building and neutralizes the assaulting Fallen. Music is heard through the amplifier.

  • Ghost - I'm sorry. Is this amplifier playing pre-golden age music?
  • Shaw Han - What? The Fallen don't strike me as the sort to listen to- ...Wait.
  • Ghost - Shaw?
  • Shaw Han - It can't be. We... we've sealed that complex years ago.
  • Ghost - Shaw, talk to us.
  • Shaw Han - If that's what I think it is, then I know full well what this Project Godshackle is!
  • Ghost - Slow down, we're still in the dark here- ...hold on, there's another signal being broadcast from the Terrestrial Complex.

The Guardian enters the Terrestrial Complex and a Darkness Zone falls. They encounter light, but fierce House of Dusk opposition

  • Ghost - Those guys looked tougher than the usual scavenger we deal with. I think we're on the right track.

The Guardian enters a massive room filled with Fallen forces guarding a signal relay. The Fallen are eliminated and the Darkness Zone temporarily vanishes.

  • Ghost - That device... I think it's trying to link up to something. Let me at it, Guardian.

The Guardian lets the Ghost interface with the device. Upon interface, a Fallen siren is heard, the Darkness Zone returns and House of Dusk forces begin to pour into the room.

  • Ghost - I don't think the Fallen liked that!
  • Shaw Han - I'm detecting a lot of movement inbound on your position, Guardian. Stand firm! We can't let them get away with what ever this is!

The Guardian braves the Fallen attackers one wave after another. Two Major Servitors, Deksis-12 and Deksis-13 join the fray, along with a small squad of Fallen beside the relay. The Servitors, and their backup, are eliminated and the Darkness Zone dissipates.

  • Ghost - I got all I can from that. We don't need what this thing is anymore. Let's destroy it.

The Guardian destroys the exposed Fallen relay.

  • Shaw Han - Ghost, tell me, what did you get?
  • Ghost - Not much. It's much more of the same: garbled Russian and classical music. As for the Fallen, they just kept hitting a multi-phase firewall again and again.

More comprehensible Russian is heard being broadcast into the room

  • Ghost - Is that...?
  • Shaw Han - Rasputin... The Fallen... That Project Godshackle- they're trying to secure control over Rasputin! Guardian, meet back with me as soon as you can!
  • Ghost - Guardian, I don't think I've ever told you about the Warminds yet but... Rasputin is supposed to be Humanity's protector during the Golden Age. He as access to some of the most powerful weapons we've ever known and made. If the Fallen seize control over him... they could point those weapons at the Last City. Let's go, quickly!

Mission end

The Supply Chain[edit]

  • Investigate the Fallen's resource depots and discover where they're moving material

"We've neutralized a Fallen splicer crew before they could interface with Rasputin's system, but I hardly believe that's the end of this little gambit here. Come back to me as soon as you can. We need to make sure they don't have anything else up their sleeves." - Shaw Han

Transcript[edit]

{Vendor Cutscene}

  • Shaw Han - Guardian, I'm glad you showed up when you did. If we hadn't dealt with that crew of House of Dusk hackers, the results could have been disastrous. But the Fallen are a tenacious bunch, as you notice, even without their precious Primes and Archons; this is hardly over for them. Rasputin has access to incredible ordnance that can level cities in a light barrage and technology beyond our wildest dreams. It's too juicy of a target for the House of Dusk to simply just give up on trying to acquire. So, if I were to hazard a guess, that crew was just probing Rasputin's defenses in the hopes of finding a weak point before bringing along something with more computational power. The only things capable of that kind of processing are Servitors, and I believe I know where we can follow up on this investigation. Head for the House of Dusk's resource depot within the Divide and scrounge around. I bet we'll find our next lead there.

Objectives[edit]

Transcript
The Guardian enters the Lost Sector

  • Ghost - Shaw, we're here. Looks like they have a couple of barriers ahead of us.
  • Shaw Han - No doubt prepared for intruders such as yourselves. Look for something powering and it should fizzle.

The second barrier is disabled

  • Ghost - I definitely think we're in the right place. There's a lot of Fallen here trying to stop us from getting in.

The Guardian completes the Lost Sector. Upon opening the chest, they are granted a Seraph Beacon

  • Ghost - Wait, this is Warmind tech. How did the Fallen get their hands on this?
  • Shaw Han - Must've been from a WarSat, a lot of those things land here in the Cosmodrome.
  • Ghost - Go figure. The House of Dusk must've been preparing this little operation for months. And- Huh, looks like they HAVE been tampering with Servitor components... and some Shank parts too.
  • Shaw Han - Then we must be on the right track. Hmm, maybe... If the Fallen had that Beacon, then they must have used it to try to locate Rasputin.
  • Ghost - You think we can too?
  • Shaw Han - Correct. Well, and maybe our Fallen friends as well, if my hunch is correct. All we need is a good vantage point and height in order for the thing to work.
  • Ghost - Got it. Any ideas where we can find one?
  • Shaw Han - Yeah, the House of Dusk's former lair.
  • Ghost - Of course.

Vantage Advantage[edit]

  • Ascend the Devil's Spire and attempt to triangulate the position of Rasputin's assailants

"Looks like we're heading back to the former Devils' Lair, Guardian. A bit tiresome heading back and forth, isn't it? Ah, well, if doing this will stop the Fallen from accessing Rasputin, then we'll do it and then some. Besides, I don't think we have much to worry about now. Should just be a couple riffraff." - Ghost

Transcript[edit]

The mission begins and the Guardian is taken to The Blast, witnessing the Fallen engaging Hive forces.

  • Ghost - Uh, Shaw, we have a problem.
  • Shaw Han - Don't worry too much. Since we gutted their Prime Servitor, the Fallen here shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  • Ghost - It's not the Fallen. We've got Hive here! They're trying to get to the Devil's Lair.
  • Shaw Han - What?! The hell are they doing here? [Grunts] Doesn't matter, anything that stands in your way is a threat to the city. Eliminate anything blocking you from the Spire.

The Guardian wounds an Ultra Knight, named Raspelox, Fist of the Coven, forcing him to retreat. The door leading into the Devils' Lair opens, allowing the Guardian to progress through, eliminating Fallen forces inside.

  • Ghost - This is some serious Hive opposition. I thought after the death of Navôta, they would have fractured and splintered. Looks like someone or some people have taken over what's left of the brood.
  • Shaw Han - A problem, for another time, perhaps. But for now, we need to stop the Fallen before they encroach on Rasputin. Take 'em out, Guardian.

The Guardian enters the Devils' Lair, eliminating the Fallen forces inside.

  • Ghost - Remember when Deksis was a problem? Heh, good times. At least then, we weren't threatened by orbital bombardment.

Before they can head for the Spire, however, a Hive dome traps them in the arena itself and Raspelox reveals himself once more, shrouding the area in a Darkness Zone.

  • Ghost - Oh, come on! Can't they see we're busy?

The Guardian whittles away a third of his health and he enters an immune state. A Blade of the Coven will arrive to try and eliminate the Guardian, but are dispatched, and their sword is dropped.

  • Ghost - That sword... Guardian, let's turn it on that Knight!

The Guardian destroys Raspelox's shield and engage him once more. He regains another immune state once at a third of his health. More Blades arrive and are eliminated, and their Swords are claimed.

  • Ghost - This Knight wants to stop us dead in our tracks and lay us low. He thinks he has us trapped and easy pickings. But he's dead wrong, he's going to be found wanting. Let's show him we make our fate!

The Guardian breaks his shield once more and eliminates Raspelox, collapsing the Hive barrier around them and allowing progression towards the spire

  • Ghost - Take that! Shaw, we're on our way up to the spire now.
  • Shaw Han - Nicely done! But I'm detecting more Hive on their way.
  • Ghost - We're ready for them. Let's go Guardian.

The Guardian arrives to the elevators and eliminates a cadre of Thrall and Vanquishers. The Guardian enters one of the elevators.

  • Ghost - Alright, we're in the elevator. Uh, Shaw, when was the last time these elevators used?
  • Shaw Han - Only a couple of years ago, so they should be in safe, working order?
  • Ghost - Should?
  • Shaw Han - Oh, come on, you'll be fine. But, uh, do stand by for resurrection, just in case.
  • Ghost - Right.

The elevator begins ascending

  • Ghost - You know, I was here. This is where I first started looking for you, Guardian. I remember when the House of Devils and Kings were a problem circulating around here. Then it was the Taken. Then the Devil Splicers and SIVA. So many threats harried the Cosmodrome over the years. I could only imagine all the good work you could have done then. But we're doing good work now, right? Navôta, Deksis, House of Dusk... and I believe so much more is coming in the future.

The elevator reaches the top

  • Ghost - Well, let's go, Guardian. We have a Warmind to save.

The Guardian encounters the bridge folded away from the Colony ship

  • Ghost - That's... inconvenient. Shaw, looks like the bridge is out.
  • Shaw Han - Must be the Fallen trying to keep the Hive off their tail. Maybe you as well. There should be a stream of power leading to a central conduit somewhere up there...

The Guardian climbs to the top and activates the panel

  • Ghost - There we go! Bridge is turning now! Uh, Shaw, why are bits and pieces of it missing?
  • Shaw Han - A previous operation. Don't worry too much about it. Should be safe for you to cross.

The Guardian enters the Colony ship itself and is ambushed by more Hive, lead by another Blade. They eliminate them and progress up the spire, evading a Taken rift before being knocked off and progressing up the ship. The Guardian arrives at the vista, encountering battling Fallen and Hive.

  • Ghost - This is a lot of Hive for a simple attack run. You think they're trying to set up another den, Shaw?
  • Shaw Han - It's likely. Without Navôta, there's been a power vacuum created in her absence.
  • Ghost - Now every Hive commander wants to fill it.
  • Shaw Han - Not if we have anything to say about it.

The Guardian arrives to the Fallen lift leading to the top of the spire.

  • Ghost - This lift leads straight to the top of the spire, Guardian. Well, let's go find Rasputin.

The Guardian ascends to the very top, landing on a platform where the former dome once was. They briefly encounter a small squad of Fallen before they are eliminated by Alishkal, Matriarch of the Brood and a Darkness Zone falls.

  • Ghost - That must be the Hive commander in charge!
  • Shaw Han - Eliminate them, Guardian!

The Guardian whittles away at the Brood Queen's health until a third of her Health is reached, where she becomes immune and a warning indicates she is preparing a Nova Scream; Fire Nova Gaze begins to slowly count down. Blades of the Coven arrive.

  • Ghost - That Wizard is generating a lot of dark energies! Grab one of those Swords and we should be able to block it!

The Guardian secures a Sword and blocks Alishkal's Nova Scream. The Shield falls and she summons Brood Spikes. The Guardian repeats damage and avoiding death and finally eliminates the Matriarch.

  • Ghost - That was no ordinary Wizard. That was a Brood Queen! They were trying to establish a new foothold on this spire.
  • Shaw Han - Good thing we stopped them then. Now, is that beacon working better?
  • Ghost - Yeah, sounds like it's leading us towards the direction of the Fallen. Let's start to search around the Cosmodrome now that we're here.

The Guardian looks around the Cosmodrome and ultimately stares off over towards the Forgotten Shore, the Seraph Beacon beeping faster and faster.

  • Ghost - Back to the Forgotten Shore... but, I think I got a ping on the bunker itself. Or, at least an active signal coming from it.
  • Shaw Han - Good work. Let's get after it and try and see what it really is. If we're fast enough then, maybe, we could overtake the Fallen.
  • Ghost - Right. ...hmm, looks like the beacon is also picking up an active feed from that location. Best we reach it when we can.

Mission End

  • Ghost - Well, on the upside, getting down will be easier than coming up here!

Securing the Complex[edit]

  • Follow the signal underground and investigate the mysterious signal being broadcast to your Beacon

"The signal we're after is located somewhere underground the Forgotten Shore. Seems to be bouncing out from an opening; either a cave or some sort of aperture is letting it out. Either this is a live signal from our Fallen friends or Rasputin may be trying to help us. Regardless, let's get down there and see what all the fuss is about, shall we?"

Objectives[edit]

  • Follow the mysterious signal being broadcast from the Forgotten Shore down underground
  • [Update] Complete the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector and secure the code fragment

Transcript[edit]

The Guardian discovers the entrance to the Veles Labyrinth

  • Ghost - Shaw, there's Hive gunk here. Looks like we're entering one of the broods' nests.
  • Shaw Han - That's not good. We may need to find another way to reach it.
  • Ghost - I don't think we're lucky enough to find another way in. This may be our only bet.
  • Shaw Han - Understood. Just... be careful down there, Guardian.

The Guardian progresses further into the Labyrinth

The following dialogue appears following the release of Witch Queen

The Guardian comes across a barrier

  • Ghost - Huh. The Hive have erected a barrier here. It's linked to that rune there. Damaging it should cause it to overload.

The rune is shot or damaged in someway, collapsing the barrier

  • Ghost - There we go! But I'm picking up more of those energy signatures ahead. Let's get hunting.

The final door's runes are shot

  • Ghost - Barriers disabled! I think that's it! Let's get after that signature.

End new dialogue
The Guardian neutralizes the horde of Thrall and discovers the outside of the Warmind Complex

  • Ghost - Uh, Shaw. We see the Warmind Complex here.
  • Shaw Han - The Fallen may be the problem here, but we can't allow the Hive to find a way in either. Let's wipe them out while we are here.

The Guardian completes the Lost Sector. Upon opening the chest, they are give a code fragment

  • Ghost - This device was what was generating that signal. It was remotely activated by a signal coming from... it- Rasputin! He IS helping us! It seems to be incomplete though.
  • Shaw Han - No, that's Hive corruption. We may need to restore it somehow. Hmm... WarSats should have essential codes necessary for accessing Warmind Systems.
  • Ghost - So, we secure a WarSat, we can get the data we need?
  • Shaw Han - Yes, but I doubt our enemies will allow us to secure it without a hastle.
  • Ghost - I figured as much. Nothing ever goes smoothly for us anyway. Know any good places for us to start?
  • Shaw Han - The Mothyards are wide enough for him to land them without suffering collateral damage, but the Skywatch is basically his turf. Either or should be a solid location for you to scoop up some access codes.
  • Ghost - Understood. Hopefully, we can secure some before the Fallen do. ...unless they've already brute-forced through his system.
  • Shaw Han - Don't lose hope just yet, Ghost. We'll stop 'em. We always do.

Access Keys[edit]

  • Restore the uplink on the Seraph Beacon with data acquired from WarSats.

"The Cosmodrome is vast and, relatively, empty enough for Rasputin to drop WarSats. Within those devices are a ton of data on Warmind Bunkers, combat statistics and analytical data on basically everything on the world these satellites orbit. Meaning it is a tempting target for our enemies. If we are to save Rasputin, then we need to brave whatever dark force comes." - Shaw Han

Objectives[edit]

  • Establish a connection to servers within the Lunar Complex
  • [Update] Eliminate the Blade of the Coven
  • Complete a WarSat Public Event. Can either be completed in the Mothyards or the Skywatch.

Transcript[edit]

Upon leaving the Lost Sector

  • Shaw Han - For starters, some servers within the Lunar Complex may have some data for you to scrounge up for your keys and will make sure the data degrade on your Beacon. See to it whenever your can.

The Guardian enters the Lunar Complex and enters the Hive infested, darkness shrouded server room

  • Shaw Han - You're coming on the Server room. Should be an active feed for you to piggyback on in there somewhere.
  • Ghost - I see it, right over there. Guardian, get me to it and I'll try and gather as much as I can.

The Ghost interfaces with it and is interrupted by an assault force of the Hive, led by a Blade of the Coven

  • Ghost - That Knight! He shut me out from the server. Guardian, eliminate him! He may have siphoned the codes.

The Guardian eliminates the Blade and forces the Hive into a retreat. They recover data from the Knights dead body.

  • Ghost - There! Link established. I think the device will be in working order now.

The Guardian completes a WarSat public event

  • Ghost - WarSat secure! Give me a second to comb through some of its data. (...) Got it! Took me a bit, but I have what we're looking for. Let's go!

If both are complete

  • Ghost - We have the access keys, Guardian! And our Beacon here seems to be directing us to the entrance to Rasputin's Bunker.
  • Shaw Han - We have no time to lose. Get in there and eliminate the Fallen and whatever they've concocted to link to his systems. I'll see if I can muster some people to aid you if necessary.

From the Grave[edit]

  • Follow the new signal into Rasputin's bunker and drive out the Fallen attackers within

"Just a little hint as to how bad this could possibly be, Guardian. Way back when on Mars, Rasputin wiped out an entire attacking army of Vex and Cabal with a small barrage of ordnance from his WarSat array. And that's some of his most tame of weapons. If the House of Dusk got their hands on that kind of firepower, they could scour the Last City with doomsday weaponry the likes of which we haven't seen since the Golden Age. No pressure, hehe." - Ghost

Transcript[edit]

The Guardian begins the mission in the Mothyards

  • Ghost - We don't have time to spare, Guardian. Let's get to Rasputin before the Fallen do.
  • Shaw Han - You have everything you need. The rest is up to you and your Light.

The Guardian heads for the Forgotten Shore

  • Shaw Han - Our enemies in the past have made numerous attempts on trying to compromise Rasputin. It was only through the sheer effort of some of our best that we were able to drive them off and prevent a disaster.
  • Ghost - We'll try, Shaw. Don't worry, they'll join the list of failures who tried to make Rasputin their to control.
  • Shaw Han - Now there's some confidence you need Ghost! Let's put an end to this madness, once and for all.

The Guardian approaches the outpost building, encountering light Fallen resistance. Upon trying to reach the basement door, however, they are locked out by a barrier and a Darkness Zone falls. A Siren is heard.

  • Ghost - Gah! The Fallen have locked us out!

A Splinter Mine is teleported into the Forgotten Shore

  • Ghost - And that's a bomb. Seems the Fallen are trying to keep us away from Rasputin.
  • Shaw Han - Ignore the door for now! You won't disable that barrier before those bombs detonate.
  • Ghost - Understood. Rasputin later, bombs now. Let's go Guardian.

The Guardian disarms one Splinter Mine. Another shows up and more Fallen reinforcements show up, among their number Pike Dregs

  • Ghost - They've brought in another!

The Guardian disarms the second. A third is teleported into the area and a Commodore now joins.

  • Ghost - It seems they're sending their best to try and stop us now. It won't help. Let's show them why!

The last Splinter Mine is disabled and the Commodore is destroyed. The Darkness Zone is lifted and the Guardian is led to the basement door, which is now free of a barrier. The Guardian progresses into the cellar and encounters the entrance to the Warmind complex and Symphony No. 6 is heard.

  • Ghost - That music...
  • Shaw Han - Rasputin is in trouble. Get in there, quickly!

The Guardian interfaces with the terminal and the door opens. Entering the complex itself, the Guardian comes across Fallen guards and a Darkness Zone.

  • Ghost - They're already here. Let's cut them down, Guardian!

The Guardian eliminates the Fallen intruders, among their number Servitors backed by Vandals, sniper-supported Captains, hordes of Exploder Shanks and melee obsessed Wretches; the Darkness Zone falls. They arrive into the central server chamber and are led to a terminal.

  • Ghost - I don't like this, Guardian. That felt too easy. Let's see if they did anything to Rasputin.
  • Shaw Han - Be careful, Guardian. We both know how crafty the Fallen can be.

The Guardian interacts with the terminal in the back of the room and gets locked out as an alert is sounded throughout the facility and a Darkness Zone falls once more. A deep series of beeps is heard.

  • Ghost - Gah! That feedback! Our beacon, it's damaged! Shaw, we just got locked out of Rasputin's systems.
  • Shaw Han - [Static]
  • Ghost - Shaw? Shaw come in!

S.A.B.E.R.-7 teleports into the arena, knocking back the Guardian if they were still by the terminal.

  • Ghost - That Heavy Shank, it's trying to splice into Rasputin's systems! Destroy it quick, Guardian!

The Guardian slightly damages S.A.B.E.R.-7 before it ultimately retreats. It's feedback echoes throughout the facility.

  • Ghost - It's calling for reinforcements!

Fallen arrive in the arena and are dispatched. The Heavy Shank releases more guttural beeps as more Fallen arrive into the fray and both Web Mines and Trip Mines are placed around the arena.

  • Ghost - How is it bringing in the Fallen like this? Has Rasputin already fallen. No, we can't give up now. Let's drive these Fallen off.

Another horde is brought in atop a Splinter Mine to be dealt with. All are dealt with and a final wave shows up, being led by Rathaks, Devils Veteran.

  • Ghost - That Heavy Shank has managed to pry open Rasputin's systems wide enough for all these Fallen to breach through and has us trapped here. We'll deal with it soon enough, though. For now, let's overthrow this ambush!

The Guardian evades the Fallen traps and eliminates the reinforcements, laying Rathaks low. S.A.B.E.R.-7 lets out some mechanical noise and leaves the observation deck of the room above. Power sounds being restored throughout the facility.

  • Ghost - It got away! But it sounds like we've shook it away from Rasputin.
  • Rasputin - (translated) Facility control systems restored. Designated ally detected; command keys damaged, planning contingency.
  • Ghost - Wait, Rasputin! He's- He's awake! I think that Shank was keeping him locked out.
  • Rasputin - (translated) Fire control systems disabled. Priority threat identified. Warning: unauthorized link detected in main power facility.
  • Ghost - Oh, well that's not good. Sounds like it's trying to re-establish control over the facility again.
  • Shaw Han - Guardian?! Ghost?! Can you hear me? What's your status?
  • Ghost - We're here, Shaw, alive and well. We found what the Fallen made and where all those Servitor parts went. An extremely modified Heavy Shank, and it's trying to break into Rasputin's systems as we speak.
  • Shaw Han - Then we have no time to lose! Rendezvous with the Strike team I sent your way. It's time we end this madness once and for all.
  • Ghost - Roger, Shaw. [Sighs] Well, our keys are corrupted again, but it sounded like Rasputin has a plan for that. Let's go meet up with that Strike team, Guardian. As he said, we're against the clock now.

Mission End

Warmind Rescue[edit]

  • Race into the Warmind Complex and eliminate the House of Dusk's advanced Heavy Shank frame before it overrides Rasputin's systems

"This gambit to secure Rasputin is all too similar to a ploy pulled by the House of Devils a couple of years ago. Even that Heavy Shank matches the description of a machine the old house tried to use to secure the warmind. Maybe this is a ploy for vengeance. Or vindication. Or maybe the House of Dusk merely are following in the footsteps of their creators. Either way, they cannot, under any circumstance, secure Rasputin. We end this here and now, Guardian." - Ghost

Transcript[edit]

  • Ghost - Shaw, we're here. The strike team is assembled.
  • Shaw Han - Good. That Heavy Shank you encountered is a continuation of the House of Devils' S.A.B.E.R. project. It initially had Rasputin pinned within his own systems before you drove it off. Now, it's trying to secure his weapons systems.
  • Ghost - Right. Last we heard, Rasputin has locked down the ordnance, but now it's hiding within his own facility, trying to regain access to it.
  • Shaw Han - Precisely. Now, we just have to drive it out. There's another entrance to the facility at the Grottos, you should be able to enter through there.
  • Ghost - But our access keys are damaged. Although... maybe Rasputin has a plan for that...

The Guardians arrive at the Grottos

  • Rasputin - (translated) Military satellite launched, access codes are inside.
  • Ghost - Wait. Rasputin is- he's dropping a Warsat from orbit! Watch out!

The Warsat lands

  • Ghost - He's giving us the access keys we need to enter the facility again! Let me at it, Guardian!

The Ghost is led to the Warsat and begins to interface with it. Fallen Skiffs arrive to deploy reinforcements.

  • Ghost - Fallen! Seems they're trying to make sure that Shank stays in Rasputin's systems. Keep them off of me!

The Guardians defend the Warsat and eliminate the Fallen forces. The Warsat is halfway done.

  • Ghost - Almost done, Guardian! Sorry, there's just a lot of data I have to sift through to assemble the codes.

The Guardians fully defend the Warsat and eliminate the Veteran Assault Captains

  • Ghost - Got it! We should be able to access the facility, Guardian.

The Guardians access the door to the facility below them

  • Rasputin - (translated) Access granted, protocol annulled.

The Guardians progress through the dark cavern

  • Shaw Han - Hold on, I'm detecting a signal being broadcast from there.
  • Ghost - S.A.B.E.R.. It must be trying to draw in more foes. Or, is it Rasputin? Either way, we have to stop this, or the entire Cosmodrome will be on top of us.

The Guardians eliminate the Fallen in the first chamber and come across a conduit and access it

  • Ghost - I could try to interface with these systems, but there is no telling what he may do.
  • Shaw Han - We can't be concerned with what we may do with Rasputin right now. We have to do something...

The Guardians destroy the conduit and are allowed further progression through the facility

  • Rasputin - (translated) System breached, damage sustained, planning counter-actions.
  • Ghost - Okay... I don't think he liked that one bit. And I especially don't like the implication of that last tidbit.
  • Shaw Han - Well, you're through now. I'm sure he'll forgive us once S.A.B.E.R. is destroyed.

The Guardians progress through the vents and land in the next connecting hallways, discovering traveling streams of Arc energy

  • Ghost - Oh, Arc streams. Of course! But maybe we can redirect the flow of energy here. Let's try and shift the charge elsewhere.

The Guardians secure the orb of arc energy at the end of the hall and are met by Shank reinforcements

  • Ghost - Come on! Give us a break, will you?!

The Guardians dunk the energy orb and the Arc streams dissipate, allowing the team progression into the next room. The fireteam eliminates the Fallen forces and move on to Bunker WAR-4.

  • Rasputin - (translated) Systems damaged. Unauthorized uplink detected in priority weapons control. Security actions required.
  • Ghost - It sounds like the Shank's almost into his weapons systems. We have to find it, fast! We should be coming on its signal soon.

The Fireteam arrive in the Bunker and eliminate the Fallen forces within, including Deksis-23 and make their way into the maintenance byways towards the combat arena

  • Ghost - You know, the more we delve into this complex and fight off the Fallen the more I realize why Rasputin is as seclusive as he is. If these weapons fall into the wrong hands... yeah, we can't allow that to happen.

The fireteam descends into the arena and eliminates the Shanks and Servitors within

  • Rasputin - High priority to mobile unit-

S.A.B.E.R.-7 reveals itself and prepares to engage the Guardians

  • Ghost - There's the Shank! Let's end this, Guardian!

S.A.B.E.R.-7 loses a fourth of its health and gains an immune shield. Servitors arrive to maintain it.

  • Ghost - Servitors! They must be linked to the Shank. The Servitor components... doesn't matter. Take out its support and the shield should fizzle.

S.A.B.E.R.-7 is brought out of its immune state and loses a third of its health. Its weapons change.

  • Ghost - It's sniper rifle is destroyed! (...) Huh?! It's deployed rotary cannons?! Seems this thing as a couple of tricks up its sleeve.

Guardians continue to engage S.A.B.E.R.-7 until it's last quarter of health is reached and it enrages

  • Ghost - Oh come on! [Sighs] Well, I can't deny, I admire its tenacity. But it's time to wrap this up. Let's take it down!

The Guardians evade the arc-charged Heavy Shank and finally destroy it, ending the mission

  • Ghost - ...And stay down! Shaw, the S.A.B.E.R. is down!
  • Shaw Han - Nicely done, Guardian. I see the Fallen are in full retreat and the signal has stopped broadcasting.
  • Rasputin - Running diagnostic... Complete. Database integrity nominal. Firewall rebooted. Weapons systems restored. Initiating full facility repair. Commending designated allied units.
  • Ghost - Hear that, Guardian. I think Rasputin is happy for once. Even after that little stint back there, he appreciates our help!
  • Shaw Han - Nice to have a tyrants' respect, eh? On top of that, that's another Dusk operation silenced and another victory for the books. Well done! Return to me as soon as you can.

Aspirations Shattered[edit]

  • Project Godshackle has been thwarted and the House of Dusk is broken once more. Return to Shaw Han for a reward.

"I believe House of Dusk's firm grip on the Cosmodrome fell with their precious S.A.B.E.R.! Granted, the Fallen came close to securing Rasputin's ordnance, guess I shouldn't have been too worried. And now that we've done a service to him, I believe we also landed in the good graces of the Warmind! A win all across the board, eh? But I'm sure Shaw would personally like to congratulate us himself. Let's go meet back up with him." - Ghost

Transcript[edit]

{Vendor Cutscene}

  • Shaw Han - This close. The House of Dusk were this close to securing Rasputin. Had they done so, they could have brought untold devastation across the Cosmodrome, the Last City or, even, all of Earth itself. Yet, here you are, putting them back in their place. The Fallen will think twice before attempting another operation of this size and scale, and perhaps for good this time. They'll still have a couple of crews and warlords here and there, but nothing of this sort again, and most certainly without aid from appropriated Warmind tech either. All thanks to you. Honestly, I'm looking forward for the next time we work together. Until then, all I can say is: excellent work, and hope to see you here again.
