Subjugators are powerful Dread commanders that serve the Witness; utilizing the Darkness powers of Stasis and Strand at their disposal. They are first encountered within the Traveler's Pale Heart.
Overview
Subjugators are tall, lean, black-skinned humanoid beings. Like the Tormentors, their heads are metallic and faceless with only a small yellow light emanating from their heads. They lead the forces of the Witness on the battlefield, using their glaives to channel either Stasis or Strand powers. Subjugators who control Stasis are referred to as "Omens" and Subjugators who wield Strand are referred to as "Harbingers."
Gameplay
- Omens
When they enter the battlefield, Omens will grant Resonant Harrier, a Pyramid-like drone similar to the Arc Soul used by Stormcallers, to itself and nearby allies. The Resonant Harrier deal Solar damage. They will fire a bundle of 2 Stasis projectiles initially, but will shoot a bundle of 4 projectiles when it reaches 60% of its health. When they begin to glow blue, it begins to summon Stasis crystals that aggressively home in on their enemy, then the Omen will begin an animation to shatter the summoned Stasis crystals, reminiscent of the Winter's Wrath shatter detonation. More powerful Omens will also become resistant against non-Stasis damage sources.
- Harbingers
When they enter the battlefield, Harbingers will enhance nearby Dread units to make them deadlier to deal with, then fire Strand projectiles like a shotgun, but the spread becomes more pronounced when it reaches 60% of its health. When it begins to glow green, it casts a crescent-shape projectile that can track its enemy and suspend those caught within the projectile. The enemy that is suspended becomes more vulnerable to attacks from it and any nearby units, so they make sure to avoid when the attack is being cast. More powerful Harbingers will also become resistant against non-Strand damage sources.

Trivia
- Due to Tormentors bearing a similar appearance to Nezarec, and the Subjugators bearing a similar appearance to Rhulk, it can be inferred that the Witness models its personal enforcers after its Disciples.
- This would be alluded to previously by Quinn Laghari during her idle dialogue.[1]
- An interesting thing to note about the Subjugators is that both variants have a golden hand, which is similar to the Stasis gauntlet wielded by Eramis, Kell of Darkness.
- Subjugators speak in a feminine voice, unlike their Tormentor allies who have a more masculine voice.
- Some Subjugators have been seen spawning in as either variant, most notably Qeilumn, Subjugator of Wilderness and Nhlas, Subjugator of Relics.
