I've got telemetry on another unpartnered Ghost. Your next target is Link, a member of a covert team of unpartnered Ghosts called the Watchful Eye. All of Link's peers have wound up back here, but Link isn't accounted for. His last known location was roughly in the area of the Ocean of Storms on the Moon. But he may have moved on by now. Start your research there, and see if we can pick up his trail. I'll be waiting for you both.

Step 2

Search for Ghost telemetry in "Nightmare Hunt: Fear" in the Moon.

  • Coordinates found

Ghost: Link is a smart Ghost, something serious had to draw his attention back to the Moon at a time like this.

(Mission begins)

  • Micah-10: I remember when the Nightmares were awakened on the Moon. Feels like an eternity ago, but I know it was only a few years. So much has happened since then.
  • Cayde-6: You're telling me. Y'know, as much as things keep changing, it's nice to know that some places are still the same desolate, horrible little hellholes that you remember.
  • Micah-10: Vicariously enjoying the Guardian's hard work?
  • Cayde-6: Honestly, I am, a little. I'm gonna miss this place.
  • Micah-10: You talk like you don't intend on... staying.
  • Cayde-6: I'm just being realistic: we might not all walk away from the fight that's coming.
  • Micah-10: Then... [takes deep breath] when I write my next letter to the Traveler, I will be sure to thank it for the time we were given.

The Guardian fights their way deeper into the Hellmouth and approaches the Summoning Pits. Upon arrival, the Guardian finds a calcified statue of a repeating Hive Knight and sends out their Ghost to scan it.

  • Cayde-6: Oh man, this guy? C'mon, Guardian, put on in his belly for me!

The Guardian engages and defeats the Nightmare of Phogoth.

  • Ghost: I'm picking up signs that Link was here. It looks like he was examining the Nightmares. Scanning them...
  • Cayde-6: Maybe he was trying to figure out where they come from?
  • Ghost: Oh, we... already know that, Cayde. We figured that out years ago. They're not much of a threat anymore.
  • Cayde-6: Oh, yeah, I... right. No, that makes sense, that's, uh... good work, everybody.
  • Micah-10: Cayde...
  • Cayde-6: Hey, no worries; just, uh... playing catch-up here with all the thrilling. revelations. Where to next?
  • Ghost: I've got a rough idea of Link's location. He's deeper inside the Moon. Come on, let's go find him.

(Mission ends)

Step 3

Explore beneath the Moon's surface in search for Link.

  • Orders read

Micah-10: Link usually isn't this reckless. We have to find him before he gets in over his head.

Notes

Link can be found in the Chamber of Night amidst giant rib bones and surrounded by statues of segmented Knights and a giant hand.

Step 4

Return to the Arbor of Light in the Pale Heart to restore the Lost Ghost.

  • Ghost Restored

Micah-10: Link could use a little boost of extra Light to get him on his way. Thankfully, we have an abundant source on hand in the Arbor.

Step 5

Return to the Arbor of Light to discuss next steps.

  • Micah-10 Visited

Micah-10: Come on back to the Arbor, we can discuss your findings.

Transcript

Link was always thorough to a fault. Glad to see nothing's changed there. The final shape spreading to the Moon isn't a surprise. But that it's hitting the Hive as hard as anyone else? I guess there really is nowhere safe. No promise or allegiance that can save you. And the Hive want this! I'm looking forward to punching the Witness in each of its stupid faces. But — ah, one thing at a time, I guess. I'll let you know when I know more.
