Subjugators are powerful humanoid entities that serve the Witness. They are encountered within the Traveler's Pale Heart.

Overview

Subjugators are tall, lean, black-skinned humanoid beings, reminiscent of Rhulk. Like the Tormentors, their heads are metallic and faceless with only a small yellow light emanating from their heads. They lead the forces of the Witness on the battlefield, using their glaives to channel either Stasis or Strand powers. Subjugators who control stasis are referred to as "Omens" and Subjugators who wield Strand are referred to as "Harbingers."

Harbinger - Subjugators that use Strand attacks

Trivia

  • Due to Tormentors bearing a similar appearance to Nezarec, and the Subjugators bearing a similar appearance to Rhulk, it can be inferred that the Witness models its personal enforcers after its Disciples.
    • However, upon the reveal of the true nature of the Dread, it is also possible they're twisted Lubraeans and Tormentors are twisted versions of whatever species Nezarec was. Though neither have been confirmed.
  • An interesting thing to note about the Subjugators is that both variants have a golden hand, which is similar to the Stasis gauntlet wielded by Eramis, Kell of Darkness.
  • Subjugators speak in a feminine voice, unlike their Tormentor allies who have a more masculine voice.
