The Echo of Invocation is an artifact that was released from within the Traveler following the destruction of the Witness. Like the other Echoes, it is believed to be a memory or psychic imprint of a species that was conquered and destroyed by the Witness and its Black Fleet, preserved in the Darkness and made manifest through the Light.

In the case of the Echo of Invocation, it was created from the memories of the Ahamkara and Harmony species. It would be located by Talos, The Wish Demon nearly a year after the events of The Final Shape where the Disciple had bid his time after the Chicagoan Incident. The Echo of Invocation would serve as the ultimate goal of Talos who had been searching millennia for an object that could bestow him the truth to the Anthem Anatheme.

Description

The Echo appears to resemble a myriad of crystallized eyes - each pupil staring blankly forwards. Upon closer inspection, each Pupil would appear to have entirely different coronas and iris' indicating it to be composed of multiple individuals. The Echo would be comprised of two separate individuals memories - a Harmony wish bishop and an Ahamkara. This resulted in the Echo proving resilient against any individual who tried to harness or even make contact with it. This unique duality was forged from The Witness's brutal cataloguing of the Ahamkara race alongside the Harmony with the two memories becoming entangled. This duality would be the exact reason Talos seemed immune to its resilience and was able to harness the Echo's power, fashioning it into a crown embedded atop his skull.

The Echo grants the user the ability to make Wishes using the Anthem Anatheme while seemingly avoiding the laws that would end one's self in the process. In essence, it grants wishes without any twists or death in the process, however it would still seem dependent on requiring communion or boons to fulfill said wishes.

Story

The Echo of Invocation was located deep in the crust of Pluto where it had slammed through its icy mantle and embedded itself in a derelict Pyramid facility. The Echo proved incredibly resilient to any individual who tried to utilize it, twisting them both physically and mentally in the case of a team of Hidden agents sent to investigate the trail of the Echo. Upon the arrival of a Guardian fireteam, Talos had already retrieved the Echo and reactivated the Pyramid facility to stall the Guardians from preventing his escape - however the Guardian team would have no knowledge of his involvement. In truth, the Echo was so resilient for it had been forged of two conflicting consciousnesses, one of the first Harmony Wish Bishop and the Ahamkara they had made their symbiosis with.

Being half Ahamkara and Harmony himself, Talos discovered he held an incredibly unique fortitude he alone possessed, enabling him to stabilize the Echo. Through Communion of it, Talos gleamed the knowledge he had sought for nearly his entire existence - the origin of the Wish Dragon's Wish magic itself combined with the knowledge on how to use it. Talos would use his own station as Disciple alongside the Echo's power to assert control over the remains of the Black Fleet and begin a pilgrimage to his extinct home system where he would reunite the Echo with the tomb of Ana-Harmony and its countless dead Ahamkara which had been formerly cursed by Savathûn, the Witch Queen and the Hive. There, Talos would plan to raise all the ahamkara from death, cleansing them of their curse and return to Sol with the Echo fully realized, heralding in his own version of the Final Shape.
