Crystalline Flayer are a Stasis Psion Flayer variant of The Dread.
Gameplay
Crystalline Flayers are powerful Attendants that ascended into Psion Flayers before they were reshaped by The Witness. They remain in the open for most of their fight sending out 3 waves at once that spawn Duskfields at thier end points. They can melee a target with an additional knock-back ability to counter any melee-based attacker. On occasion instead of sending out multiple Duskfield Waves they will charge up and cast thier Psionic Powers to conjure a volley of highly volatile Stasis Seekers that travel along the ground like multiple Coldsnap Grenades which can decimate a Guardian's health and Freeze them. Due to their high damage output, this attack should be avoided; so the Fireteam should put distance between the Flayer and themselves when this attack is cast as the Seekers have a short range they can go before disspate. Once a third of their health is lost, they will call for Shadow Legion Psion Commanders to come to their aid, shielding thenm from all fire as well as calling for more resilient backup. The shield must be destroyed by eliminating the Shadow Legion Psion Commanders in the area in a similar fashion to how a Councilor is supposed to be killed. Once all Commanders are killed, the Flayer will be open to damage once again.
