Klrorgon, also known as Klorgon the Marauder is a Hive Knight of unknown affiliation and a reoccurring character and antagonist in the Destiny franchise. Born as a Spawn of the Worm God Akka, Klrorgon sought vengeance for the death of his God by the hands of Oryx and his later death at the hands of the Guardians.
Seeking vengeance for the death of his God and his own personal vendetta against the Taken King, his determination would help him to defy death in the many centuries, seeking to claim the lives of the Lightbearers that took away his vengeance from him. Through sheer force of his anger and hatred, Klrorgon's deaths would become a constant, eager to end the Guardians for his own personal pride.
Biography[edit]
Wyrm Spawn[edit]
Servitude to Akka[edit]
- "You are Klrorgon. I spawned you from my flesh so that I may extend my will elsewhere. You shall be my herald and usher forth the secrets of the Deep in my name"
- — Akka's first and last order to Klrorgon
Klrorgon was born some time before the Hive's war against the Ammonites as a spawn of the Worm God Akka, the Worm of Secrets to act as both a herald and enforcer. A brutal warrior and champion to the Worm God, he offered many tithes to Akka in exchange for the secrets that the Worm kept from the Hive and only offered to his direct servants. Klrorgon sought out the secrets to commune with the Deep, long before Auryx would make his attempt to kill Akka, however his God refused as he was not yet worthy to wield such power. Because of this, Akka learned that Klrorgon's determination was unmatched by any other Hive, believing that he chose his herald well.
Before the Hive's war against the Ecumene, Akka sent Klrorgon as an emissary to the Hive to conquer this galactic Darkness wielding government at the behest of his God. Klrorgon's own actions and subsequent war against the Ecumene helped to prepare them for the arrival of Auryx and his sisters. Klrorgon believed that this was Akka's way to ride itself of the Osmium Progeny in order to evolve the Hive from their own precursors.
Cataclysm[edit]
- "My Worm. My God. Is dead. I swear an oath that my vengeance will be made. And I shall endure until it is done."
- — Klrorgon's oath of vengeance to Oryx
In the onset of the Hive-Ecumene War, Auryx would find that the Worms had deceived him and his sisters. He would slaughter his sisters as a means to challenge Akka, only to first confront Klrorgon. He would see Auryx's ambitions to challenge the Worm Gods for their power, but Klrorgon saw through the King's true intent to find the means to commune with the Deep. The two would face off against one another with Auryx toppling Klrorgon in his tracks. Auryx would inevitably face off and kill Akka in order to take from his corpse the ability to commune with the Deep, becoming Oryx, the Taken King
This infuriated Klrorgon for not only taking Klrorgon's ambitions of communion, but the death of his Worm God. The Spawn of Akka was venerated with hatred and malice and challenged the new crowned Taken King, challenging him in the High War itself. His emboldened rage was nearly a match for Oryx, leading to a stalemate between Prince and King. In a last ditch effort, Oryx banished Klrorgon from his Throne World. The Spawn of Akka declared that his vengeance had only just begun and the fall of the Taken King was inevitable.
Rise of the Young Wolf[edit]
The Unfettered Blade[edit]
- "Hate. Hatred is all I feel. Oryx took away my god, so I will take away his tribute."
- — Klrorgon's words after infiltrating the Hidden Swarm
At an unknown point, Klrorgon would infiltrate the ranks of the Hidden Swarm as a means to dismantle Oryx's line of tribute from his son, Crota. Klrorgon acted as one of the Swarm Princes in service to Crota and helped to create his sword that would be used to slaughter many Guardians. Upon the rise of the Young Wolf, Klrorgon had watched their actions from he shadows, seeing how they slaughtered anything that would come their way. As a means to cut Crota's tribute, Klrorgon had allowed the Guardians to use the very sword the Swarm Princes had created in order to destroy them and the sword itself, depriving Crota of the weapon he had used against Humanity.
At an unknown point after the destruction of the Black Heart, the Vanguard would learn of Klrorgon's disruptions against Crota and saw him as rising threat. They would lead a strike force to invade the Hellmouth and kill Klrorgon to end his rising threat. Cutting down Hidden Swarm forces, they reached Klrorgon's lair in the Summoning Pits and end The Marauder. As he once stated, Klrorgon would endure due to his own determination for vengeance, denying his own death at the hands of the Guardians.
Wolf Bane[edit]
- "Wolves whisper of a dark omen on the Moon. They call him the Wolfbane. He hunts the ravenous Wolves as they tread the halls of death. He will be their end if they delve too deep."
- — Variks speaks of the tale of Klrorgon, Wolfbane
Klrorgon would inevitably reemerge by the time the House of Wolves broke out of the Prison of Elders. As the Wolves attempted to siege Lunar territory for themselves, Klrorgon directed the Lunar Hive against them, inadvertently driving out the commanders for the Guardians to claim the bounties on Saviks, Queenbreaker, Veliniks, the Ravenous, Weksis, the Meek and Skoriks, Archon-Slayer. He was also known for killing members of the Twisted Claw and the Howling Raiders, earning him the title of Wolfbane.
During Taniks's raid on the Hellmouth, Klrorgon would attempt to fend off Taniks's mercenaries by flooding the lunar halls and infiltrating his Ketch in the process as well. Taniks however proved to be almost as diligent as Klrorgon but twice as resourceful, using the Guardian fireteam that was initially sent to kill Taniks to root out Klrorgon's location. Before the mercenary Captain could locate Klrorgon, he would be killed by the Guardian Fireteam, keeping the Prince's location away from enemy eyes.
Shadow of the King[edit]
- "Klrorgon lives? Has he no ambition but to claim his ancient vengeance? We will see whether or not he can face against the legions of the Deep."
- — Oryx after learning about Klrorgon's presence in Sol
Some time prior to the arrival of Oryx, Klrorgon could sense his presence encroaching onto Sol. However he believed it wasn't for retaliation for the death of his son, but a direct order from the Voice in the Darkness, the Witness. Breaching into the World's Grave for any info, he would eventually find the identity of the Witness and its tactics. After learning what he could, he scrubbed whatever information that the World's Grave may have had on the Witness to ensure that it wouldn't fall into Guardian hands.
By the time Oryx had arrived, Klrorgon chose to hide deep within the depths of the Hellmouth in the Catacombs. He knew at that current point Oryx had become too strong for him to face head on for he also had to face the very Court that protects him. He devised many schemes and many plans to influence the lunar Hive to turn against Oryx, only to fall to deaf ears as they had swore their allegiance to Oryx.
He would eventually learn of Oryx's death as it him it felt as if a sign of relief washed over him as the Taken King's ravenous heart was torn out of him. However a rush of pure hatred and anger flowed through him, knowing that it was the Guardians that toppled Oryx in his own throne. In several subsequent efforts to claim the throne, he attempted to rally great swaths of leaderless Taken who desired a purpose to his aid in the Chamber of Night. The Guardians would learn of this attempt and Klrorgon would flee to the Dreadnaught, attempt to reactivate it and unleash an invasion on Earth.
The Guardians would enter the Dreadnaught in order to locate sites of communion between the Silent Brood and the Taken across the Dreadnaught in order to locate Klrorgon. They would eventually lead a strike team into an undiscovered location within the Dreadnaught that served as both a communion site that acted as a rudimentary command deck for the Dreadnaught. The Fireteam would break through the Taken forces and kill Klrorgon once again.
Spliced Ambitions[edit]
- "The Hive are frenzied under the command of the Marauder. While the Splicers conduct the experiments on the Hive, Klrorgon has started a war against them"
- — Shiro-4
A year following the death of Oryx, a contingency of the House of Devils known as the Devil Splicers would assault the Hellmouth, seeking worthy Hive to conduct their experiments of grafting SIVA onto those that weren't Fallen. Klrorgon would be one of these chosen as he would be taken from the Hellmouth and moved to Plaguelands where proper experiments could be done under the watch of the Devil Archons.
Klrorgon's own body however repelled the nanotech growth on his body, which intrigued the Splicer's High Priest, Kovik. He believed that after his many deaths, Klrorgon's own will and determination not only kept his body alive, but also made his strength and willpower surpass any that comes into contact with him, which would explain as to how Oryx was unable to take him during the Taken War.
He would inevitably breach containment after the Guardians found out what the Devil Splicers were doing with the Hive and would eventually escape back to the Hellmouth as a means to reinforce the Lunar Hive and to keep the Devil Splicers from claiming more abominations to experiment on. The Guardians would however encounter Klrorgon when they initiated a strike to stop the Devil Splicers from claiming the Abomination Ogre of Umra, Xol Spawn. Klrorgon would be one of those that were felled during the assault.
New Age[edit]
Titanic Apirations[edit]
- "Reports claim that Klrorgon has risen once again and is terrorizing escapees from the Last City. We cannot allow his rage be the end of us."
- — Zavala
Shortly after the attack of the Red Legion on the Last City, Lightless Guardians under the command of Zavala, fled to Titan, seeking refuge from the assault. They would however come across the renting Hive brood there, from which many of the Lightless would lose their lives to the Hive's onslaught. Some reports claim that they witnessed Klrorgon leading some of the Hive forces, strategizing attacks to further weaken the Guardians. After reclaiming a majority of the Arcology and claiming intel on the Almighty, the Guardian would hunt down Klrorgon once again, who was preparing a final assault on the Siren's Watch.

During the events of Season of the Forge, Guardians would learn of the rising Hive weapons master, Enkaar and would attempt to stop his plans from forging further weapons to torment humanity. In a bid to rally Enkaar's forces, Klrorgon reappeared on Titan for the summoning ritual being conducted by the Servant of the Betrothed. He would eventually fall to the Guardians before he could get a hold of Enkaar's location.

Even though Klrorgon would still be encountered during the events of Shadowkeep, the Lunar Pyramid would create a Nightmare of the Marauder deep within the Hellmouth. It would be encountered within the Circle of Bones, specifically where the Guardians originally defeated Kranox, the Graven. Eris believed that the reason the Pyramid manifested the Nightmare for Klrorgon, claiming that it was a manifestation of his failure to kill Oryx when he had the chance.
