Mephitic Hosts are a variant of Wraiths that can appear in Riven's Lair or the Coil.
Gameplay[edit]
The Mephitic Hosts are encountered during the Enthymeme and Chiasmus missions and encounters. They fight just like any other one of their kind and drop the Ephemeral Virus upon being killed, which lasts for 29 seconds and allows the player to destroy the enemy's shield and kill them. To avoid death, jump on the Well before the timer reaches zero.
During the Plaguewielder encounter, killing hordes of Scorn will lure out Elite Mephitic Hosts. Once they are killed, the player can obtain the Virus and kill the Plaguewielders.
During the final encounter, the Locus of Subjugation will be immune upon the beginning of the encounter, while Elikaa, the Pale Rot will gain an immunity shield upon losing half of its health. When both bosses are immune, Major Mephitic Hosts will spawn. Once the players have broken the Locus of Subjugation's or Elikaa's shield, they must kill the Well Protector and jump on the well. If the Locus is not killed in time, its shield will return and players will have to repeat the process. Destroying the Locus's shield once more will guarantee it will not return.
