New Light is a campaign released on October 1, 2019 as a tutorial and was later updated to become a complete campaign coinciding with Beyond Light's release date on November 10, 2020. It has received numerous updates since, updating certain rewards and adding additional questlines. One of which being the Learning Light questline, which unlocks new Aspects and Fragments.
Plot
New Light is focused around introducing new players and new characters to the world of Destiny through helping a Hunter known as Shaw Han and his attempts to hunt down a Hive Wizard known as Navôta, Eir Spawn to avenge his fireteam.

Story missions
- A Guardian Rises - A new Guardian is created and attempts to escape the Cosmodrome.
- Schism - The Guardian searches for Shaw's missing fireteam members, Cas and Maeve
- Cold Boot - The Guardian is tasked to open an array that links to the rest of the solar system.
- Vendetta - Shaw Han teaches the new Guardian the basics to take down a growing Hive threat.
