Transcript[edit]
Gameplay [edit]
- Siren's Watch
- Titan
- Restore power to the station
- Go to the generator room and activate the wave energy converters
Commander Sloane: Al right, we're not out of this yet. Now that we've reach the Control Center, we still need to power up the place before we can take care of our Fleet. Zavala tells me you volunteered. I'll run tactical. Shipwright Holliday here will provide tech support. It's a straightforward op: get in, flip a switch, get out.
Amanda Holliday: Heh. Sloane's got a way of making things sound easy, doesn't she?
- The player moves from Siren's Watch to The Rig
- The Rig
- Titan
- The player heads towards Tidal Anchor, finding the access bridge the scene of a battle between the Hive and Fallen. The Hive force is anchored by a Shrieker, introducing these units to the player.
Ghost: Did we lead the Fallen here?
Sloane: No. Those vultures have been following us since we evacuated Earth.
- Immediately behind the fallen position on the bridge is a dead Servitor, TM-RIG-4:
- The player defeats the enemies in their way, cross the bridge and continues on into Tidal Anchor.
Ghost: Sloane, Amanda. The Hive have infected everything.
Sloane: Holliday, we gotta get you back in the air. We'll need ongoing aerial threat assessments to keep out perimeter secure.
Holliday: Oh, uh... Yeah, you know my ship took a beating during the evacuation.
Sloane: I'll bump you to the front of the line for repairs once the lights are back on.
Holliday: Great. Great.
- Tidal Anchor
- Restricted Zone
- Restore power to the station
- Turn on the console to activate the wave energy converters
- The player enters on a scene of Fallen and Hive fighting each other right as a wave of Exploder Shanks penetrate the Hive positions and demonstrate to the player, and the Hive, their destructive power. The player clears the room, approaching the console at the far end near a window overlooking the generators.
Ghost: We can see the wave energy converters from here
Sloane: Sweet. Now just flip the switch and turn them on.
- Enable Wave Converters
Ghost: Accessing systems now.
Holliday: Ugh. Some of the pistons are moving, but we're still sitting in the dark.
- Display starts flashing alarms.
Ghost: Something went wrong. Pistons must be jammed.
Holliday: Sorry, pal, but you're gonna have to go out there, rig a workaround.
- Figure out what's wrong with the converters
- Make your way out to the converters to perform a manual repair
- The player proceeds through the rest of the building towards the converters, where they encounter Fallen Web Mines and their slowing and blinding effect, and which upon detonation, alert more Fallen to their presence. In the next room the player encounters more fallen as well as Ghost Scans TM-TA-1 and TM-TA-2, the latter of which is located in the inter-compartmental hatch filled with Fallen Trip Mines.
- The player presses on, kills the Fallen and makes their way outside.
- Once outside they proceed along the gangways underneath the structure connecting to where it connects via a bridge to the first of the Wave Energy Generators. The bridges between the first and second structures are being fought over by Fallen and Hive, with the Hive positions on the second, containing a multitude of Cursed Thrall, introducing the player to the Hive's explosive answer to the Fallen's Exploder Shanks introduced earlier. The Cursed Thrall are hiding behind various cover pieces in ambush until the player enters the bridge.
- The player makes their way across the second bridge as the blood curdling scream of a Hive Wizard is heard in the distance.
Ghost: Did you hear that?
- The Cursed Thrall spring their ambush, coming out of cover on either side of the player, forward and back, teaching the player not to trust their motion tracker to detect static foes in ambush.
- The Hive are defeated, and the player approaches the wreckage of the bridges to the next platform. From here on in all of the platform's bridges, gangways and other access points are broken, decrepit and destroyed to the point that the player cannot simply walk across them, making this section a silent jump puzzle tutorial for new players.
Ghost: We made it to the converter platforms.
Holliday: OK. Get to the stalled pistons, see what's jamming 'em. Once they're all moving, we're in business.
- Repair the converters
- Functioning converters
- [0-2] of 2
- Clear Hive secretions away from the converter pistons
- Functioning converters
- The player enters the first platform and reaches the piston, which is covered in a thick Hive secretion.
Ghost: Oh yeah, found the problem. The Hive have gunked up the pistons.
Sloane: Then let's find a fix.
- If the player delays destroying the Hive material on the piston Ghost will say:
Ghost: Looks fragile.
- The material is destroyed and the piston starts working properly.
- 1 of 2
Ghost: First piston's good to go. We gave it a power scrubbing.
Holliday: That's great and all, but, uh... It's still pretty dark on this end.
Sloane: Sounds like you've got more scrubbing to do, Guardian.
- The player makes their way to the next platform, killing a few Hive along the way, while more Wizard screams are heard in the background, setting up the Wizard's introduction. The player reaches the second platform, defeating the Hive there and proceeding inside to the piston, which is then cleaned of Hive secretions.
- 2 of 2
Ghost: Final piston is clear.
Holliday: Control Center is still dark. So it's gotta be more than just a piston problem. Gonna have to get in, fuzz with the circuit breakers.
Sloane: Try the Central Platform. Everything routes through there.
- Restore power to the station
- Go to the central platform to flip the circuit breaker.
- The player reaches the top of the central platform, where another scream reveals the presence of the Hive Wizards.
- Restore power to the station
- Eliminate the Hive Wizards blocking the path to the circuit breaker
Sloane: Circuit breaker's going to be around there somewhere. Find it and flip the switch. Just like I said.
- Restore Power
- The player flips the switch, watching as the generator atop the main structure of Tidal Anchor is reconnected, and the lights come back on.
Holliday: Yeah! Power's back!
Sloane: Exemplary work, everyone. But we still have to deal with these intercepted enemy transmissions.
{End Gameplay}
{End Mission}
