The Celebrant of Vengeance was one of the first to be Taken by Oryx, the Taken King. It now currently resides in the service of Kharyx, the Navigator's Lullaby, who uses it alongside the High War's Herald as her initial skirmish commanders. But where the High War's Herald serves as the command of her Hive, the Celebrant of Vengeance commands her Taken.
BiographyEdit
An Ancient LessonEdit
Millenia ago the Celebrant of Vengeance was a meager Knight who clawed and begged Oryx to Take him, finding fear in his position as a Knight would soon make him a target. Oryx would do so, but like most Taken, the Knight would be robbed of all of his free will. Oryx would be fascinated with the contradiction of the Sword Logic the Knight posed. He'd then pass the Knight on to his mate, Kharyx, after a discussion the two shared of the riddle its existence posed so she could find the answer Oryx already did.
Primeval PowerEdit
Due to how ancient the Celebrant of Vengeance is, it has achieved Primeval status and must be summoned by two incredibly powerful Taken hybrid Wizards named Kamog, Princess of Kharyx and Omorox, Princess of Kharyx. Upon being summoned, it immediately seizes command of all Taken in the area and follows the order last given to it by Kharyx. Kharyx would use this ancient ability to abduct many languishing Taken from The Pale Heart and the Ascendant Realms to replenish her ranks as she lacked the knowledge on how to Take. During the Spite of the King's war within the Sol system, the Celebrant of Vengeance would notice odd anomalies while skirmishing with Xivu Arath's Horde on Titan. It'd send a Taken scouting party and would discover an ongoing Gambit match, particularly when a Primeval was summoned.
It'd report these finds to Kharyx, who at the moment was attempting to discover the secrets to Taking that she believed died alongside Oryx and The Witness. Kharyx would then use this information to raid the Drifter's Derelict to discover the secrets to Taking and possibly how to use Motes of Dark to be able to summon her Celebrant again if it was ever banished as by now her princesses had also been slain. However The Guardian would be inching ever-nearer to her plain via the Ascendant Realm's Ley Lines thanks to the many tracking devices Drifter puts on all his equipment. She'd send the Celebrant of Vengeance to stall the Guardian, but it'd only buy a few minutes at best before it too would fall to the Guardian's power. With no way to truly conjure it back, the fate of the Celebrant of Vengeance is unclear, though Drifter has joked that maybe since it's a Primeval, it'll pop out of a Gambit portal one day.
