Raneiks Unified is an amalgamation of ten Servitors horrifically fused together through unknown circumstances and serves as one of the hosts of the Corrupted Puppeteer.[1] It is encountered in the Castor Complex aboard the Vesper Station, serving as the first boss of the Vesper's Host Dungeon.

Gameplay[edit]

Infiltration[edit]

Raneiks will first be encountered in the hallways after Activation. Its main purpose is to harass the Fireteam from progressing forward by firing Void blasts at them, and tethering to them with an Integration beam that will kill after a short countdown. Occasionally, Raneiks will begin shaking and shed multiple explosive smaller Servitor shells that detonate either on receiving damage, or after a short timer.

As the fireteam progresses, it will teleport forward and continue harassment, eventually being left behind.

Dismemberment[edit]

Upon approaching the back of the room, Raneiks will spawn and begin the battle. Fallen will spawn from various locations, with one dropping an Operator augment which should be picked up and deposited into a terminal for later. Next, focus on killing the Marauders in the room, which are cloaked Vandals. Upon them all being defeated, a Machine Priest will spawn beneath Raneiks. Killing this will begin a teleport for all Fireteam members.

Once teleported, Fireteam members will find themselves outside with encroaching Shanks and Exploder Shanks, with Raneiks at the far side, firing Void blasts, creating explosive Servitor shells and attempting Integration beam attacks. Once all Shanks die, a new Shank will spawn, carrying a Suppressor augment. Kill this, pick up the Suppressor augment and use your Grenade ability near Raneiks to spawn a decoy. Destroying this decoy will shock Raneiks, forcibly splitting it into 10 different smaller Servitor bodies which are individually named and numbered. Two of these Servitors will have glowing eyes, and you should take note of the numbers of these two Servitors.

After taking note, return to the original room by using the tunnel located behind where Raneiks was before, or the smaller, but safer, tunnel on the far left side. Repeat the same process of killing Marauders then the Machine Priest to be teleported back up to repeat the same process as before. You should now have four numbers noted.

Returning to the original room for a second time, with your four numbers, obtain the Operator augment and shoot the 4 panels corresponding to the four different numbered glowing Raneiks. They are located around the structure that separates the area with all the enemies and the rally flag. Once all 4 have been shot, deposit the Operator augment as quickly as possible. Soon enough, a Shank carrying a Suppressor augment will spawn. Kill this, pick up the augment, and use it to shock Raneiks once again. Once Raneiks is shocked and splits up, it will become vulnerable to damage.

Regarding damage, Raneiks is best dealt with using area-of-effect attacks, as single target damage will not be effective due to the amount of targets available, and there being no guarantees of landing precision damage due to the swarming nature of the many Servitors. Using something like a Titans Glacial Quake Super, or a wave-frame Grenade Launcher, can provide the best possible damage. However, one exception to the recommendation of area-of-effect damage are Solar Ignitions. Raneiks takes less damage from subsequent Ignitions, so a proposed strategy of using a weapon like Dragons Breath will not yield high damage.

Should the damage phase end before Raneiks can be defeated, it will reform, and the cycle will begin anew. Kill Marauders, then the Machine Priest, be teleported, remember your numbers and get ready for damage again.

Trivia[edit]

  • It is the first Servitor encountered as a boss in a Dungeon.
  • It is the third Servitor boss that is able to split into several Servitors, the first and second being Brandaks Reborn and Mavaks-12.
    • However the difference between Raneiks and the other two is Brandaks and Mavaks split into Servitors upon death. While Raneiks is able to split unwillingly and able to join back together.
