The Valence is a massive aurora of Light and Darkness that is venting from the Traveler into space above Earth after Witness' defeat in the Pale Heart.
Overview
After the defeat of The Witness, an aurora of Light and Darkness began pouring out from The Traveler over Earth, with the Coalition designating a no-fly zone within 100 kilometers in order to ensure no incidents occur. Sometime following the Valence's creation, several Echoes of The Witness' memories and power were launched from The Traveler, with one of them impacting Nessus and ending up in the hands of a being known as the Conductor.
