Eaters of Light and Darkness are a variant of Hive Knights encountered during Exegesis.

Gameplay

The Eaters of Light and Darkness are consistently encountered throughout the Exegesis mission. They fight just like any other Knight of their kind and drop fragments of Light or Darkness upon being slain.

To open the gateways, the Guardian must empower the fonts of Light and Darkness with their identical fragments. To retrieve fragments of Light, the Guardian must slay the Knights using the Aegis. While to retrieve Darkness fragments, they must kill the Knights with their ordinary weapons. Each fragment has a 29 second cool down before it dissipates.

When there are both fonts of Light and Darkness, they must interact with the Light font first, before interacting with the Dark variant. Once the Guardian has entered into the Refraction, they must empower the fonts to bring fourth the Pillar of Silence and use the Aegis to pierce its shield before slaying the Ogre.
