The North American Empire was a geo-political body that existed during the Golden Age. It used the eagle as an/its emblem.

Trivia

• The empire bears resemblance to the United States by way of iconography, and could be a case of in-universe mis-identification.
• The United Republic of North America, or URNA, is a geo-political body that appears in one of Bungie's previous franchises, Halo, and is very similar in concept to Destiny's North American Empire. Both could be references to the real world North American Union.
