An alliance of Fallen, Hive, Vex, Cabal, Taken, Scorn, and corrupted forces, the Shadowkeepers Alliance was created by the mysterious leaders who called themselves Kirito and Asuna. They believed the Traveler had abandoned them and the Darkness was created to save the universe from the Light's lies.
Overview
- "The enemies of humanity are innumerable. We are surrounded by the Fallen, the Vex, the Hive, the Taken, the Scorn, and the Cabal. But never before have we faced an enemy as powerful as the Shadowkeepers – a villainous organization hellbent on overthrowing entire worlds."
Created alongside the Fallen House of Shadows, Hive Shadow Swarm, Vex Shadow Divisive, Cabal Shadow Legion, Taken Reborn, Scorn Cult of Shadows, the Ghosts of Nagasaki, and Ghoulies, the Shadowkeepers seek to destroy the Traveler and terraform all worlds into their own.
History
- "As for you, my loyal servants, my new friends, my Shadowkeepers... I gather you today because the time has come to rain darkness upon Sol. For too long, the Traveler has prevented the universe from entering the true, final shape - that of Darkness. But now, this ends. I have already slain the Guardians’ Vanguard Commander, known as Zavala. There could never be a better time to strike, now when their morale is low and they are susceptible to falling to Darkness. Go! Unleash chaos upon their people. Create fear in the hearts of those who follow the Light!"
- — Kirito
Recruited from different time periods and dimensions by Kirito and Asuna, this group of time criminals have fought through waves of people who continuously defended the Traveler and stole from them both their lives and powers.
- "After Zavala’s death, the world saw terrible things rise forth into our lives. With Mal on Kirito and Asuna’s side, they led their armies throughout countless worlds and terraformed them into their own. The destruction of everything we knew and everyone we fought for… I have witnessed this firsthand."
- — Elsie Bray, the Exo Stranger
Although their initial victory began with the corruption of Mal and the deaths of Zavala and countless Auradonians, their notoriety grew as they conquered countless worlds and formed dark empires for their people to rule over all people.
- "You’re doing great. Soon enough, everything will be under your control, and you can reign supreme over those who have hurt you. The Dark Traveler is nearly complete, and once it awakens, everything we've done will spread all over worlds and we can finally rule everything, Kirito-kun."
- — Asuna
During the events of the Shadowkeeper Apocalypse, countless Lightbearers have tried to stop the Shadowkeepers and revert the timeline back to its original form, but died by their hands.

House of Shadows
House of Shadows | |
---|---|
Overview
Formed from remnants of various houses, including Devils, Darkness, and Wolves, that believed that the Traveler had chosen the Guardians over them and that the Darkness was the true source of strength and immortality, the House of Shadows sought to bring devastation and chaos upon the Last City. Using the technology the other houses had, along with the SIVA tech long thought to have been destroyed and Guardian tech that they stole from the Tower, the House of Shadows grew into a powerful house born of arcane chaos and advanced technology. They joined the Shadowkeepers during the SIVA Crisis. They are distinguishable by black and purple bodysuits with green dragon marks along with additional items, each powerful by length for those in higher ranks.
History
In the aftermath of the Whirlwind and the terrifying destruction of Japan, the Fallen Houses came together during Kirito and Asuna's first journey into the darkness.
