BiographyEdit

Battle of the War GodsEdit

While much of Archangel's past and purpose are unknown, according to Anastasia Bray, a small piece of Rasputin still lives within Archangel and he quickly bonded to The Guardian, upon them finding him in the depths of the Seraph Station. From there on, he would rest within the Seraph Wing of the H.E.L.M., keeping the Exo Frame company.

With Rasputin's death and the closure of the Seraph Wing, Archangel officially moved to the Tower. He resides in the Annex, adjacent to Ada-1 and the Black Armory.

A New ProjectEdit

Archie accompanied Niik, Ana Bray, and Zahn'ra as they worked to repurpose a Pyramid Scale. Zahn'ra asked if Niik and Ana were the engineers, and Ana introduced themselves. Zahn'ra complemented Archie, refering to him as a cat, which Niik corrected, but glanced at Ana for visual confirmation. Zahn'ra asked if he was an engineer as well, which Ana awkwardly replied that he wasn't. Ana asked her what her ideas were for the Scale, and she suggested converting it into a gun. However, Niik gathered her Servitor and shared a Sparrow design she believed Amanda would have liked. Together they built Unified Theory.[1]

GameplayEdit

Archangel could be found in a locked side door in the room where the player kills Haroktha, Scourge of the Helium Drinkers. In order to get in, the player must have had the Security Clearance seasonal vendor upgrade and have destroyed all fifty security drones with the Revision Zero Exotic Pulse Rifle. Afterwards, the player had to go through several laser walls that could be survived with the Tactical Armor seasonal vendor upgrade, then, work their way through an extensive jump puzzle. After braving the deepest depths of the Seraph Station, the player would enter a dark room with only Archangel waiting inside. The player was then given the option to "Activate Good Boy Protocol", petting Archangel and transmatting him out of the station onto the Seraph Wing of the H.E.L.M., nearby the Exo Frame.

The player then had to then complete the current instance of Operation: Seraph's Shield, then report back to the Seraph Wing, where Archangel would be waiting and could be pet as many times as the player desired. Doing so five times awarded them a triumph, and ten gilded it.

With the release of Season of the Deep, Archangel can now be freely pet at will within the Tower's Annex.

With the release of Season of the Wish, Archangel will leave his spot by Ada-1 and instead leave paw prints. Interacting with these paw prints will start a quest in which the Guardian attempts to find Archangel by visiting locations at certain destinations. At the end of the mission, Archangel will return to his place in the Annex and rewarding the player with a trinket after speaking with Ada-1.

TriviaEdit

  • Archangel marks the first truly interactable animal within Destiny, as the chickens within The Farm and by extension Colonel only reacted to Guardian presence and Louis doesn't react at all.
  • After the events of Season of the Seraph, Archangel was affectionately renamed by Anastasia Bray as "Archie" and is accepted as his name among Guardians and Bungie themselves.
  • During the Festival of the Lost of 2023, it is seen that Archangel is possibly capable of understanding more advanced concepts and language shown by his assistance of candy collecting with Savathûn's ghost Immaru[2] believing it will help Anastasia Bray, but not before showing reluctance and skepticism of the peculiar Immaru.
