"HEAR ME, CHILDREN OF THE SKY! Your logic is flawed! Your God is false! Yet your might is respectable! You fear not the Deep's embrace! So, I must test your strength. Meet my blade, meagre children, and either ascend or fall, under I, Koraak! Son of War-Eternal! May this battle be legendary! To you or to me!"
— Koraak challenging the Guardians

Koraak, Son of Xivu Arath is an ancient and powerful Ascendant Hive Knight and son of Xivu Arath, God of War. Born to command magic and turn it into a weapon to be wielded by Xivu Arath's brood, he would experiment for years, ultimately becoming one of the most powerful wielders of Hive magic, only beat out by a blood-curdling few, utilizing his newfound strength to chart a bloody crusade in his mothers' name. He would ultimately be encountered by the Guardians on Titan, where he would attempt to rally the Hive broods under his command, and ultimately meet his ill-fated as his magic consumed him.

BiographyEdit

"YOU WERE BORN FRAIL, BORN WITHOUT THE STRENGTH TO WIELD A BLADE. BUT YOU TURNED THAT INTO AN OPPORTUNITY TO WIELD SOMETHING ELSE IN TURN. YOUR WIT AND YOUR MAGIC ALONE CAN TURN SWORDS AND A WORD CAN BE AN EDGE IN WHICH YOU STRIKE DOWN AN ADVERSARY. WITH THIS I AM WELL PLEASED! GO FORTH, BELOVED SON AND REND WORLDS ASUNDER! MAY YOU SIRE LITANIES THAT WILL SCOURGE THE STARS AND SHATTER ARMIES! FIGHT FOREVER IN MY NAME!"
— Xivu Arath

Koraak was the first of Xivu Arath's children and was born frail compared to his cousins. However, finding an opportunity to possibly outmaneuver her siblings and spawn a child of incredible magical power, she would task him with learning the dark arts of Hive magic, combing each and every archive the Hive had on its powers and to experiment with whatever power he could find. Eventually, after years of perfecting his craft, he would be able to challenge his fellow peers, using his newfound power to challenge some of Xivu Arath's most seasoned of warriors, utilizing spellcraft and magic to unleash powerful rites and summon magically bound weapons to his command.

He would be at the forefront of his mother's armies as they marched out across the Galaxy, even being among the first warriors to fight the Harmony. When their wish-priests attempted to invade his mother's Ascendant Plane, he would be the first to challenge them, turning them away with his sheer magical might alone, slaughtering entire ranks instantly with mere words alone. From the carnage alone, he would earn the title Bane of the Harmony and would continue his bloody campaign against them, slaughtering Ahamkara left and right and grafting their bones into his own flesh and chitin.

When the three siblings split, Koraak would attempt to continue his research on their covens' findings and attempt to replicate much of them to the best of his ability. Koraak would eventually master the Deathsong and almost successfully replicate the Annihilator Totems, creating identical copies that would become Bleakfire Shrines after allowing them to siphon a fraction of their power.

Sometime later, however, he and his brood would be the first to encounter the Tekhaurin, a warrior species that was of little interest to the Hex-Scarred until he discovered their Warsages. After his War Sorceresses failed to counter the Warsages' power, rather than frustration, he found fascination in their power and sought to overcome them in a battle he found worthy of his own time. After abducting one of their seasoned Warsages, he discovered that their power wasn't so different from the Hive's own, further piquing his curiosity. Realizing an opportunity, he concocted a scheme in which the Warsages would corner a large contingent of his forces and attempt to annihilate them with their magics. Upon inverting the spell with a simple uttering of a charged word, however, the Warsages would be reduced to ash and their essence scattering across the battlefield, leaving the rest of the Tekhaurin to be slaughtered by the now empowered Hive. Reinvigorated by the wholesale slaughter, he would split their world in two using his newfound might.

Years following the death of Oryx, however, with the Black Fleet closing around the Sol System, Xivu Arath would task him with uniting the ranks of the Hive on the moon of Titan and bring forth his magical gifts for them to use. After some time within the Arcologies, he would begin to establish Bleakflame Shrines abroad and begin to craft monstrosities enhanced with his profane power. Upon the discovery of his activities, however, he would be hunted down by a Fireteam of Guardians and, despite his tremendous magic and sheer, Ascendant might, be slain before he and his mother's ambitions could be recognized.

When the planets disappeared, his remains would be discovered by Xivu Arath's followers, leaving them and his mother to lament his loss. Honoring a past wish of his, she would leave them and reduce them to dust, remarking that his philosophy alone shall persevere beyond his grave, as that is what brought him his station among gods.
