  • The Crow: The City gave our Eliksni allies a new home. But tension between humanity and the Eliksni… can still run high. Misraaks, the leader of House Light, is keeping to himself… worrying his people. His daughter Eido has four sharp eyes on him. But something's off. Things aren't going so well for Eliksni outside the City either. We just got a distress call from Europa. Eliksni non-combatants in Eramis's old crew are under attack. A new species of Scorn are hunting Eliksni across the system. These Scorn are corrupted Eliksni, returned from death by their leader, Fikrul. And Fikrul… was created by the person I used to be. I've got a personal stake in rectifying the situation. But as the new Hunter Vanguard… It's more than that. It's my duty.

(Mission Begins)

The Guardian arrives on Europa and begins to travel to Riis-Reborn to investigate the distress call.

  • The Crow: Eyes up, Guardian. We're responding to distress call from House Salvation civilians.
  • The Crow: They wouldn't ask us for help if it wasn't dire, so let's use our leverage wisely.
  • The Crow: This is a humanitarian mission, so hold fire on all Eliksni targets. Good luck.

Arriving to Riis-Reborn, the Guardian finds Eliksni civilians outside as well as passive Dregs close to an entrance. They then use a tractor beam to travel up into a building and enter a doorway taking them into a cave.

  • The Crow: The Hidden report that Eramis is on-site. Your orders are to take her… alive.
  • The Crow: Now I know she's caused a lot of damage, but killing her will only harden anti-human sentiment.
  • The Crow: I'm not turning my first op as Hunter Vanguard into a bloodbath.

Exiting from the cave to arrive at Riis-Reborn, Approach, the Guardian engages with a new faction of Scorn, distinct from the remainder of their kind. Entering into a building, the Guardian discovers an Eliksni held within a cage and destroys the Ether Totem to free it from its captivity.

  • The Crow: This is bizarre, Guardian. It's not an attack, it's a roundup.
  • The Crow: But new Scorn only come from dead Eliksni. So why do they want the prisoners alive?

Traversing further up Riis-Reborn in pursuit of Eramis, the Guardian defeats hordes of Scorn led by a Lacerated Abomination before entering a doorway taking them into another structure.

  • The Crow: House Salvation ships are bailing for Earth, and the H.E.L.M. just arrived to take on stranglers.
  • The Crow: There's a lot of reasonable distrust of Eramis's people, but I'm taking the long view.
  • The Crow: I want to prove that Hunters can build bridges, not just blow them up.

The Guardian defeats further Scorn forces and frees another Eliksni kept captive within a cage.

  • The Crow: There's something different about these Scorn.
  • The Crow: The freed civvies referred to them as "na-veskirisk."
  • The Crow: Which translates to "not lifeless." Not sure what they mean by that yet.

Continuing their search, the Guardian carries on with their pursuit for Eramis.

  • The Crow: Xenobiological analysis is in: These Scorn are made of living tissue, Guardian.
  • The Crow: Not necrotic like normal. Na-veskirisk.

Finally, the Guardian arrives at Eramis's location, where they find the Kell of Darkness battling against swarms of Scorn in the room where she bestowed Stasis upon Phylaks.

  • Eramis: Stand before me if you dare! I'll send you back to the drift again and again!

Working alongside Eramis, the Guardian defeats the Scorn forces standing in their way. Suddenly, Fikrul, the Fanatic appears at the higher floor above, with his staff now bearing a glowing red artifact. He raises his staff in the air, resulting in a clear light being emitted.

  • Fikrul, the Fanatic: Since father Uldren, Scorn were born dead. Great Machine for Humans only.
  • Fikrul, the Fanatic: No more. Now I am blessed with Light. Power to make life!

Lowering his staff, Fikrul then raises it once more to summon a Revenant Baron before teleporting away shortly after. Upon defeating the Revenant Baron, the Guardian destroys the Revenant Totem after its death, preventing its resurrection.

  • Eramis: House Salvation will never bow. Not to the Scorn, and not to the Vanguard!
  • The Crow: Eramis is getting away, Guardian. Chase her down!

With Eramis transmating away, the Guardian enters the doorway below the higher floor to return to the room with the teleporter, taking them to Gale's Watch

  • The Crow: Damn. Fikrul got his hands on an Echo. He's using it to mutate the Ether of living Eliksni.
  • The Crow: That explains this new breed of Scorn, and why he wants the captives alive.
  • The Crow: For now, let's keep our eyes on the prize.
  • The Crow: Eramis is cornered. I'm coming down to personally negotiate her surrender. Standby.

Returning to the room where they first battled Eramis, the Guardian defeats the Scorn within to lower the barrier blocking the entrance to the platform overseeing Riis-Reborn. Walking into the platform, the Guardian finds Eramis looking behind them. with an Eliksni Ketch above and the H.E.L.M. in the distance. Crow then transmats to the platform with his weapon in hand, causing Eramis to turn around and look at the Hunter Vanguard.

  • The Crow: Good work, Guardian. This has been a long time coming.
  • The Crow: Eramiskel. It's not for me to judge you, but… I speak for the people of the Last City now.
  • The Crow: They're demanding justice for all the people you've harmed - Guardians and civilians both.
  • The Crow: And it's my job to deliver you.
  • Eramis: [scoffs] The "justice" of thieves and oppressors. What hypocrisy. Your blades are covered in the Ether of my kin.
  • The Crow: Think of the kin you have left. They're aboard the H.E.L.M. right now, and they need you. You can't abandon them.
  • The Crow: Besides, if I came back without you, Eido would never forgive me.
  • Eramis: If I come quietly, you will guarantee safe harbor for my people?
  • The Crow: As long as they disarm and live peacefully with House Light… they'll be safe in the City.
  • The Crow: You have my word.
  • Eramis: I expect the Guardian to enforce that. Now take me to Eido.

Eramis walks closer to Crow, allowing herself to become handcuffed as she transmats away.

(Mission Ends)

(Cutscene Begins)

Aboard the H.E.L.M. within space, Crow is seen holding his gun towards Eramis and touches his eye to access the comms.

  • The Crow: All hands! This is the Hunter Vanguard. We have a high-value prisoner on board and a House Salvation Ketch inbound.
  • The Crow: Prepare for boarding defense.

As the Guardian arrives to Crow's side, the H.E.L.M. briefly trembles as a House Salvation Ketch is seen from the front windows of the H.E.L.M.

  • The Crow: We don't want to fight your rescue team, Eramis; call them off.
  • Eramis: I'm not the one in need of a rescue. Once HE finds you…

Fikrul, the Fanatic teleports onto the H.E.L.M., from behind the War Table.

  • Eramis: …It's too late.
  • Fikrul, the Fanatic: Father! I bring a gift: the power to make all Eliksni our children!
  • Fikrul, the Fanatic: Reborn through extinction - risen as Scorn!

Fikrul slams his staff on the ground as the cutscene transits to show the House Salvation crew aboard the H.E.L.M. becoming transformed into Revenant Scorn. The cutscene returns to the H.E.L.M. as Fikrul raises his staff from the ground.

  • Fikrul, the Fanatic Bow to Fikrul, Kell of Kells!

Fikrul raises his staff in the air as he teleports himself away. Abruptly afterward, the Ketch rams into and destroys the right windows of the H.E.L.M., resulting in the Frames falling out of the ship, forcing the Guardian to hold onto the ship while Crow and Eramis are forced to keep their balance. The cutscene then transitions to show a projection of Failsafe behind them on a table.

  • The Crow: [grunts] We've lost steering - we're going down!
  • Failsafe (Cheerful): I am assuming control of the vessel, due to a comprehensive failure of Arc conduit systems and my extensive experience with crash landings.
  • Failsafe (Cheerful): Please brace for turbulence as we slam directly into-

(Black Screen)

The cutscene transitions to show the H.E.L.M. now located above a wall on the Last City.
