Regarding appearances, you don't actually need Taken King installed to encounter the Taken. They'll show up as long as you have update 2.0 installed. --73.219.160.192 14:09, 16 September 2015 (EDT)

The Extinction of the Taken

With Oryx, the Taken King slain in the King's Fall raid it's pretty obvious that the Taken are now completely extinct.
