The Heavy Pike is a variant of the Pike utilized by the Fallen House of Wolves, and later the House of Dusk and the Scorn.
Overview
The vehicle was first introduced in Destiny update 1.2.0, and could be found on Venus inside one of the caves in the Ember Caves in Patrol, and the Ash Coves during both versions of the Winter's Run Strike. In Destiny 2, a trio of Heavy Pikes can be found in the Glade of Echoes on Nessus during the Exodus Crash Strike, in The Rig on Titan (moon) during a random event, and various Heavy Pikes can be found in Maevic Square in the European Dead Zone on Earth during the Curse of Osiris Story mission, A Deadly Trial.
It has a slower rate of fire than the standard Pike, but fires splash-damage rounds. Also, strafing causes the Pike to fire bouncing Shock Grenades, much like a Skiff. Like the ordinary Pike its boost will eventually run out and requires a moment to recharge. Its armor is significantly stronger than a Sparrow or Pike's.
While an ordinary Pike has only one central engine, the Heavy Pike has seven: four upper offset engines, two lower maneuvering engines, and a central, boosting engine. When boosting, the maneuvering engines will align with the central engine, much like how the Cabal Interceptor's engines align together for a short-term boost.[1]
Heavy Pikes have also been ultilized by the forces of the Scorn. The Baron Yaviks, the Rider, terrorized the Reef atop a Heavy Pike—alongside her Pike gang—before she was tracked down and killed by the Guardian in their quest to avenge the death of Cayde-6.[2] Years later, Heavy Pikes began to become more common amongst the Scorn's arsenal, as several were found throughout Savathûn's Throne World.[3][4]
