Eraniks, the Dark was a Hive Thrall who had killed its worm after overloading itself with power. It had resided in the caverns of the Necropolis, stalking members of its former brood, the Hidden Swarm. The Thrall presumably has free will as it made a deal with the Apostles of the Voice to help take over the Necropolis.
Gameplay[edit]
The Eraniks encounter starts in The Pit similar to the Akriks encounter. However, this time the pit is completely dark and you must wait until Eraniks jumps out at you and attempts to kill you. He deals very high damage, getting you to critical in one hit. Every time he jumps at you you can deal 1/4 of his health. He also peaks his head out from pillars of the cavern to stalk you and follow you.
