Transcript

(Mission Begins)

The Guardian arrives at the wreckage of the Exodus Black where they encounter Vex bearing silica-colored collars.

Failsafe (Cherry): Captain! You actually came! And it only took a minor cataclysm.

Saint-14: Failsafe! Ah, what can you tell us about the anomaly that landed here?

Failsafe (Depressed): Whatever it is, it's causing the Vex to change… and they hate changing. It's kinda freaking me out.

Failsafe (Cherry): If you reconnect me to my external data array, I can provide a more detailed analysis.

Failsafe (Depressed): I'd do it myself, but this shipwreck is the closest thing I have to a body.

Saint-14: For now. Osiris has a surprise once we're finished here.

Failsafe (Cherry): Your tone suggests a high probability of exciting news! I am properly motivated. Let's go!

Arriving within the Exodus Black, the Guardian finds Failsafe and speaks with the AI.

Failsafe (Depressed): Hey, before we go, could you clear out some Vex for me.

Failsafe (Depressed: They put me in quarantine after the impact… so rude!

Failsafe (Cherry): Once their local infrastructure is destroyed, along with their enviable bodies autonomous bodies, my connectivity will be re-enabled.

Leaving Failsafe's centre, the Guardian returns outside to destroys all of the Vex units and disables the Confluxes to vanquish the Vex's portal over the Exodus Black.

Failsafe (Cherry): The Vex quarantine has been broken. I'm free!

Failsafe (Cherry): We can now survey the impact site and re-integrate the data array.

Failsafe (Depressed): My calamity is your tourist destination. Hmph, funny how that keeps happening.

Saint-14: Osiris thinks that this anomaly could be paracausal. Maybe that's why the Vex are so curious.

Failsafe (Depressed): That makes sense. Prediction is their whole thing, and they never saw this coming.

Travelling down into cave, the Guardian then enters a Vex portal to arrive at the Chamber of Sky where the impact site is located. Upon locating the impact site, they discover that the anomaly had pierced into the planet's crust and created a deep pit.

Saint-14: There! The impact site… It… It doesn't look like a crater. It punched right through the planetary crust.

Failsafe (Depressed): Well, yeah… If it transferred kinetic energy like a meteor, I’d be a fine cloud of particulates right now.

Failsafe (Cherry): Which supports my initial hypothesis that this is super weird. And there's my data array!

Upon rebooting the data array, the Guardian is confronted by hordes of Vex units.

Failsafe (Depressed): Rats! There's a firewall locking me out, and I'm gonna need a Vex energy signature to hack the system.

Failsafe (Cherry): A severed head will be ideal! Please decapitate Vex at your earliest convenience.

As the Guardian continues to slay Vex units, the Vex respond by initializing their security nodes. Slaying a Minotaur, the Guardian receives a Cranium and use it to disable three different sets of Vex nodes.

Failsafe (Cherry): Initializing reboot. That tickles!

The Guardian continues to defeat many Vex platforms and disables two more Vex nodes utilizing a Arc Cranium.

Failsafe (Cherry): Diagnostics started. Aaaaand, I am inundated with critical system errors.

Failsafe (Depressed): Believe it or not, that's a good thing, heh. Can't reconnect without a little awkwardness… Right, Captain?

Shortly after the Guardian destroys all of the Vex, they use a Arc Cranium to destroy the final set of Vex nodes. As a response to their nodes being disabled, Cottux, Compelled Mind appears and engages with the Guardian alongside its forces.
Darkness Zone. Respawning Restricted.

Saint-14: The Vex are calling up their premium units to stop you!

Saint-14: There must be something very interesting in this pit.

As the Guardian damages Cottux, it teleports away into a Vex shield maintained by nodes. Using an Arc cranium once again, the Guardian disables the Vex nodes to lower the shield. With Cottux vulnerable, the Guardian destroys the Vex Mind, thus reestablishing all connections back to Failsafe.

Failsafe (Cherry): Connection reestablished! All systems operational.

A powerful Earth quake is felt across Nessus, shaking the Centaur planet to its core.
With the survey mission complete, the Guardian reboots the data array.

Failsafe (Cherry): Survey mission complete. I am now analyzing data from the time of impact, which I will happily share with you…

Failsafe (Depressed): After, I learn what this surprise is.

Saint-14: Fair is fair! You were very helpful in guiding us here. So helpful…

Saint-14: That Osiris is building you a relay in the HELM. We're bringing you aboard as a 'planetary consultant.'

Failsafe (Cherry): I am rerouting power supplies to experience joy once again. And… complete.

Failsafe (Cherry): YAAAAY!

Failsafe (Depressed): I'll see you aboard the HELM… neighbours.
