Balaurks, Shield of Ozymandias is a Scorn Abomination encountered as an optional main boss of the Takedown of the Headless Lord. Instead of one being, the Abomination was once a band of seven lowly Fallen from the House of Exile. Seeking to elevate their status by any means necessary, they sought whatever power they could get their claws on so as to become unstoppable. As their House would be subsumed into the House of Dusk, the Seven would find their opportunity and seize a Skiff for themselves and head to the Transylvanian Wildlands in search of answers. Coming upon Ozymandias' work, the seven would begin work on becoming far stronger than they could imagine. However, a ritual would go awry, and their bodies would agonizingly meld together and their spirits would forever be trapped in condensed spheres of Ether.

Years later, their melded body would be reanimated as a Scorn, and the spirits of the seven would jointly inhabit it, working in concert as Ozymandias' new, if not experimental, guardian. Hearing of grim fables of an Ether-gorging monstrosity possessed of Seven Souls, Eido would have Guardians investigate the tales spun by surviving Eliksni. Thus, the Fireteam would follow an errant path and discover the Abomination, as well as the spirits within, and put the joined Seven to rest.
