"Be the bull."
— In-game description

Matador 64 is a Legendary Shotgun first introduced in The Taken King, obtainable as a random Crucible drop post-match. A fan favorite for its incredible range and stopping power, especially in PvP activities, it made its return in the 30th Anniversary Pack and can be obtained from the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon.

Gameplay

Year One

The Year 1 iteration of this weapon is the Felwinter's Lie. It is not a direct predecessor to the Matador, but it is in the same archetype.

Year Two

The Matador 64 was introduced and was immediately lauded for its ability to kill enemies from much farther distances than many other shotguns.

Trivia

  • Some shotguns like Matador 64 have their gauge printed on the side, above the trigger.
    • The shotgun takes 12 Gauge shells.
