Doctor Shim was a scientist who worked at the Ishtar Collective on Venus during the Golden Age. He studied the Vex alongside a team of scientists which included Maya Sundaresh, Chioma Esi, and Duane-McNiadh.

Along with the other copies in the Vex Network, the Shims sensed an Echo breach the system, and felt compelled to reach for it. Together with the other scientists, they piled furniture and lifted one another up in an attempt to reach it.[1]
Personality and traits
Shim was portrayed as a social introvert, noted as the "quietest one" of the group[2]. He was sultry, irritable, sarcastic, and prone to outbursts of profanity[3]
