From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
High-Value Targets, or HVTs, are special enemies that can appear in Patrol or during Gambit matches.
Gambit
About halfway through the game, a High-Value Target will appear. It will be a glowing Major enemy of the same race as the one currently being fought. It will spawn at a Front, and move through them all the way to the opposite side. If not killed in time, it will disappear. When damaged, it will begin leaking Motes of Dark, and will release a shower of them when killed, alongside a Heavy Ammo Brick. A total of 12 motes can be collected from a High-Value Target. Its arrival, death, imminent disappearence and escape will be announced both by the Drifter and messages on screen.

It will usually be a glowing Major enemy of a faction present in the Destination, with high health and damage, and quickly regenerating Absorption Shields if known to possess them. Its appearence, death, imminent disappearence and escape will be announced both by messages on the screen.
Trivia
- Some Wanted enemies used to appear as HVTs in Patrol, but were removed with the Vaulting of the Tangled Shore.

The Maintenance Tank is a support and construction vehicle that was used by Humanity during the Golden Age. Though it is unknown if it is used in the Last City, Guardians have used them in some occasions during missions across the Sol System.
Gameplay
The Maintenance Tank drives much like a Drake Tank, perhaps being a little faster, but is not outfitted with any sort of weapon. When used, the player is instructed to either ram into obstacles or flee an area as fast as they can.
The Maintenance Tank is first used in the Mission Utopia, where The Guardian boards one to escape the depths of the New Pacific Arcology before they are overrun by the Hive, after stealing a Golden Age CPU and triggering an alarm that alerted the complex. The tank can smash through the chitin obstacles and barriers erected by the Hive, as well as crush them under its threads.[1]
Another Maintenance Tank is used in the mission Reforging the Past, where Clovis Bray I directs the player to pilot it to get to him fast, and to use it to crush the assaulting Vex outside of the Bray Exoscience.[2]
Trivia
- It's possible that the Drake Tank is a modified variant of this vehicle.
