Ogres Ascendant are Taken Ogres seen in the Bridge of Folly encounter in Tier 2 & 3 in The Reckoning, where they attempt to stall the Guardian challengers from crossing. One such Ogre is also encountered in A Shadow Overhead when the Guardian went to investigate the Arrival of the Black Fleet. Another Ogre Ascendant would be encountered in the Dreaming City carrying an Offering to the Oracle Engine that the Guardian needed to find Archie. They would later be found in the ranks of the Dire Taken.
