An Armor Core is a material rewarded for completing Prison of Elders challenges. Before the April Update It could be exchanged with Variks, the Loyal for a piece of armor, or combined with a Weapon Core to purchase a reward package with random loot from Variks.[1]
It can now be turned in for reputation with House of Judgment
