The Theodicy War was a conflict waged between two factions of the Awoken within the Distributary. The rural Eccaleists, led by the Diasyrm, accused Queen Alis Li of deicide by denying them the chance at godhood when she was allegedly the first to awake within the Distributary and determined what form the Awoken would take. The city-dwelling Sanguine supported Queen Li against these accusations. A peace was eventually negotiated between the two sides by Mara Sov, Uldren Sov, and Osana Sov.
