Wretches are a class of Fallen warrior in Destiny 2. They were first encountered within the House of Dusk.[1]
Overview
Wretches are two-armed, spear-wielding Fallen. These brave, or desperate, Fallen warriors are armed with Arc Spears, which they are sent to use in melee despite their frailty. Other than their weapon, they can be distinguished from Dregs by their enclosed helmets. After their reappearence in the ranks of Dusk, they were employed by the other Fallen groups of the Solar System.
Gameplay
Wretches are melee cannon fodder troops, and take the place of dual Shock Dagger Dregs in Destiny 2. They rush into combat brandishing their spears, attempting to both slice and electrocute their targets. They can do many attacks with these weapons, be them simple stabs, spinning slices and rushing overhead strikes. Their length also gives them a longer reach than other melee units. However, their attacks have a long wind up time, and they are still weak, cannon fodder combatants that can die to a single melee attack.
Variants
- Assault Wretch
- Empyrean Wretch
- Fallen Extractor
- Resilient Wretch
- Spider's Associate
Trivia
- Wretches bear a striking resemblance to the Pfhor Fighters from Marathon, who also wielded spears.
- They seem to be a rank between Dreg and Vandal, or some sort of elite Dreg class, due to them having two arms like the Dregs
